Anyone experienced nipple soreness post menopause?
I am 58, post menopausal. Within about the last week my nipples have become tender, similar to how it used to feel before or on my period. They also are more flat, and the aereola is less pink than normal. They used to change with temperature, but now seem to be more flattened out in general. I don't feel sick otherwise, and am not on any medications. Anyone out there who has experienced this kind of change or tenderness?

Just be aware that surgeons operate. It’s the nature of their business. Seeing a breast specialist like you mentioned is a good idea. They may have other options rather than considering surgery at this early stage.
I am joining you great women! I am 56 and have not had a period for 10 years so post menopause. My doctor here in Germany gave me Estriol creme for vaginal dryness but only have used it once a week for 4 weeks. My nipples are killing me! I have huge(and I hate them )breasts and very dense too. I am suspecting this is the culprit. Because of the move overseas, I am 6 months overdue for a breast exam and will get on it!
I am not going to use the creme anymore and see what happens.
Any advice?
I am living in germany. A little unsettling to be in a foreign country with a possible problem. I feel ya!
I’m 70 and recently experienced sensitive nipples, I don’t have any soreness or other changes in my breasts but I have started taking new medication for my heart
Hi there, I am 60 yrs old and received a complete hysterectomy at 47. I have had nipple soreness on and off for several years. After reading your article, I feel better knowing it may all be due to the hormone replacement I've been on. It sure is uncomfortable but so is all the other sad side effects of menopause and the hormone replacement has helped in that way. Thank you for posting.
I am 72 and definitely post menopausal! I too have been experiencing pain in nipples and breasts reminiscent of premenopausal discomfort associated with monthly cycles. In my case though this began during a recent bout of Covid-19. It has continued despite seemingly complete recovery from the virus. I am wondering if anyone else has experienced something similar.
Just found this and I am 58 post menopause 3 years now and first started with vaginal discharge almost 2 weeks ago and now a couple days ago I have nipple tenderness and today it felt like I was having ovulation pain on my right side.
Same here. I’m 56 and had my last period 20 months ago. Started with clear stretchy discharge 6 days ago followed by sharp ovulation pains on right side and now sore nipples. All feels exactly how it did when I was getting my periods. Seeing my gyno on July 3rd. Will give an update

Oh my yes! At 68 my nipples are overly sensitive. Menopause is over.
