Again, which nebulizer...HELP!!

Sorry Shelly, Looks like it is permanently discontinued. I am hoping they will produce something similar to take it's place. If that happens I will post it. Bill

Has anyone had trouble with the hypertonic saline rusting the mesh on the Innospire Go? I tried an off brand of mesh nebulizer for 3% saline /Duoneb and the mesh rusted. My pulmonologist said the mesh nebulizers were not recommended for hypertonic saline. I really liked the quiet, size, speed and easy maintenance of the device. I'm currently using a Devilbliss when I travel. Thanks, K

Can anyone tell me the speed of nebbing a 4 ml vial with the Innospire Go?
My nebulizer currently takes 15 but when I have to neb 3 different things, I’d like more speed and the Innospire Go might be worth the price.

Also, why do some nebulizers have mesh — what is it’s purpose?

I’m considering the DeVilbiss traveller portable system and the Pari Trek S system for travelling this spring. I want one which is really reliable, if I’m only taking one, and still not sure which will be the most compact AND the most reliable.
I’d appreciate any suggestions.

I have had both of these and loved them - found both to be reliable and portable. The only reason for two - daughter needed my Pari Trek S, and when I replaced the DeVilbiss was in stock. Both are still plugging along after 5 years, though the Pari only plugs in now - the battery pack died.

Thanks! They look like they’re about the same size but the DeVilbiss is less expensive so maybe I’ll go with that.
This is the wrong thread but re: sterilizing - I read here once about a collapsible travel pot which is silicone and stainless steel. I’m also wondering if anyone has used it and how tell it worked.

Does anyone understand the significance of certain specs on the nebulizer compressors? Such as Maximum Pressure psi vs Operating Pressure psi, Particle size, method or type of nebulization. Since nebulizer treatments are so important for us, i sure wish i understood the significance of all these specs.

I do not understand the significance of the compressor specs, but when I started using the Aero Eclipse XL nebulizer, which I like, I read in the instructions that it should be used with a compressor with a given flow and operating pressure. Since the compressor I had from Lincare did not meet those guidelines, I bought an Ombra compressosr, made by the same company as the Aero Eclipse XL (and also the Aerobika). The Aero Eclipse XL nebulizer can also be attached to the Aerobika and used together. Donna

Since learning the Innospire GO has been discontinued (I have 2 left and am dreading their demise), I have only found one that meets my requirements so far (vibrating mesh, not ultrasonic, boilable, etc). Many of them state they are not to be used with hypertonic saline (either 7% or 3%), and most of them can't be boiled.

The only one I have found so far is the Omron NE-U100. It is a few more pieces than the GO (4 boilable parts make up the mouthpiece & mesh cap), but it is boilable each use, which is a huge plus. I have only had it a month so can't speak to longevity, but so far so good. It is a tiny bit slower than the GO, but not much. It says it dispenses from any angle, but I haven't found that to be so, though that is not any different than the GO so I don't have a problem with that. I also find that if I shut it off often during treatment, which I do to huff and get rid of mucous the saline is releasing, then it gets droplets on the mesh cap and I have to sort of shake those off before it wants to start "steaming" again. It has always started again, but I have only had it a month, so will see if that stays true.

I only ordered one to test, but you would definitely want more than one cup/mouthpiece/mesh cap, but you can order all separately and they are considerably less expensive than the GO, which is nice.
