How do you deal with dry eyes?

I have dry eyes due to sjogren's syndrome. Does anyone else deal with dry eyes?

In Nov. of 2922 I developed an itchy rash on my legs, arms, torso and head. I also got severe joint pain in my knees, hips, elbows, lower back, ankles, and fingers. I had just finished a 6 week course of dual antibiotics for a wound infection. I was seen by an infectious disease specialist who took one look at my rash and told me I had psoriatic arthritis. Gave me a dose pak and the rash and itching disappeared. The pain didn’t and I’m finally getting a skin biopsy in 2days to confirm. I’m in so much pain I can barely walk. I’m pretty sure my past Covid infections have triggered this autoimmune disease.

I’m sorry. I have same symptoms and severe neuropathy. It’s a race witch hurts worse any day.
I’m finding holistic help th most effective. Try to ditch as many Rx as u can. It’s th main cause of most arthritic conditions. Acidic ph with a poss. Gene mutation.
These then stop th thyroid n festive responses and th liver can’t effectively make th hormone conversions so hormones get unbalanced too. Been going down this road 40+ yrs n didn’t know it.
Detoxify by cleaning up food/ water to organic only.
Pharmaceuticals acidify th ph n arthritis takes off bad. Antibiotics throw off th bodies abilities to use zinc, D3 n calcium. Th calcium gets dumped because th body needs zinc, magnesium ( all but oxide) n potassium, along with D3.
Use a sunlight lamp if u can’t get sun. Vital to energize cells.
We are batteries n need to b charged especially when sick.
Study holistic remedies, organic meals n drinks to solve issues. FOOD is medicine.
FOOD can change DNA. I’ve read this so many times as my docs kept saying “we don’t know what causes arthritis “.
Now, I know.
Adrenal fatigue from stress n toxic body is actually a killer. My adrenals quit around 2010. I’m STILL trying to fix it.
Only started to educate myself extensively in 2017.
I would quit all meds but my neuropathy pain is way off th charts.
Anything to feed th body, mind( meditation), and spirit will heal.
Healing music helps too.
Some is free online.
I learned meditation in about 2 weeks when I was military. It’s helped me in so many ways since🙂
When arthritis starts th thyroid quits. Find a good functional medicine Dr.
They’re a huge help🙂
Love yourself. Healing does happen.
Blessings n Prayers 💕🇺🇸✝️

Yes, Bruder seems a bit pricey, but seems to work. Also, when I gently washed it as directed, somehow the properties seemed to change a little, so I always test the heat carefully before applying. Dr. also suggested "OCuSOFT Lid Scrub plus Platinum" eyelid cleanser. But I believe it is because he said I had some blepheritis (which was a surprise to me). However, whenever I used it, it stung my eyes, so I discontinued it. (BTW, is it OK to use brand names? or should we not do so?).

Hi Libertyusa.
I’ve had a nasty eye experience fr a few yrs running after camping by a river and forgot my contacts.
Sulpher based spa helps a ton.
Daily baby shampoo n a q-tip to wash lids is a Godsend.
At night I use castor oil on lashes ( antibacterial).
Makes lashes grow too.
Good luck, feel better

There are some meds I can’t just stop taking: hypertension, depression, diuretic, cardiac, etc. I have never been able to tolerate sun due to a 40 year period of migraine. You have some very good advice for others and much food for thought. Thanks!

@lacy2 I have used vitamin drops from India I found that when I used them I didn't have to use as many times before I put drops in about 4-5 times a day but with using drops and Dr put me on AREDSfor my M.D. I use maybe I 1-2 times a day here it also depends on the weather

Be careful with drops from India. I know some have been recalled due to contaminated with fungus. Many people have gotten sick from them...and one has died.

I have had dry eyes for 20 plus years. I am on Systain eye drops twice a day. I have read that running a humidifier helps? I am currently using one now? Anyone else using a humidifier?
I really can't afford plugs.

I have had dry eyes for many years. I started with commercial types, made in USA or Canada. Now I use ones that are made in Germany and can be purchased at any pharmacy in Canada, Germany & Switzerland. HYLO GEL. These drops can also be purchased online. All the best, Marianne

My eye consultant also prescribed Ilube for my dry eyes along with HyCon Extra which I can get that on Amazon.

We run 2-3 humidifiers because the air is so dry. Its to help some ailments. It didn’t occur to me that it could help dry eye. I’ve had dry eye for over 23 years. I’ve had punctual plugs (a help), restasis (could not tell if they helped), individual use eye drops, lubrication at night at times (helped, helped). When I use moisturizing eye drops it helps improve vision. I hope you feel better. If you are using a computer, when looking at the screen, try to blink more often. Believe it or not, it makes a difference. Hope you feel better.

I have had plugs put in my lower eyes many years ago and I may have to have it done in my upper eye lids. I also use refresh drops and ointment at night. I think I have spent over $50,000 over the years for drops.
