Tinnitus and severe vertigo

Posted by jandroid @jandroid, Jan 5, 2023

The tinnitus is making me crazy. The vertigo started last night. Has anyone experienced worsening migraines since COVID? I had mine under control by avoiding cheese and processed foods. I was positive for COVID the day after Thanksgiving. The one time I went without a mask in an Uber I got COVID.

You may do well to consult a physician or specialist ENT as there are exercises you can learn to reduce and eliminate the vertigo and tinnitus IF it is due to an inner ear imbalance.

My mother in law had severe vertigo, after third Covid booster,( I dislike calling it vertigo, as she couldn’t even sit up in bed without losing muscle control and falling over). She was hospitalized for 10 days with no solid diagnosis on what caused

I, too, have tinnitus and severe vertigo. Vertigo comes on suddenly with no warning and I suffer from violent vomiting. More severe than I have ever had in my life, sometimes lasting for hours. I have been to a number of excellent neurologists with no diagnosis or possible cure. I also suffer from a balance issue. I also have lack of sight in one eye which varies in intensity along with an inability to focus enough to keep my gase in line enough to read a sentence or at least read a book with any ease. One would think with all the MRI's etc and the excellent doctors I have seen that someone would be able to give me some answers but I haven't found any yet. Just when I think I am getting better and this is behind me it seems to flair up again. I can't seem to connect it to anything. Does anyone else have a similar problem?

I am still in the midst of evaluation for vertigo and tinnitus, but have found both cranial sacral therapy and acupuncture beneficial. Also, at times applying ice to my forehead, sides, of head ( directly in front on my ears, and my neck). have helped to calm the tinnitus, or circumvent a vertigo episode. That said, both are very disruptive and limit my activities.

I've had constant moderate to severe migraines for one year now, vertigo and tinnitus on varying levels but has overall lessened. I hadn't had a migraine in decades. I have a hard time now judging stairs. I also needed glasses as my vision changed and eye hand coordination is off. Vestibular system is very complex and interrelated...

I have had a few instances of severe vertigo during my post Covid time (1 1/2 years). I've been in to PT to help with it, which works until I get it again.

Do you have pressure in your ears too? This has been my worst long Covid symptom. I feel like I am underwater. I also have tinnitus and also hyperacusis.
I will try icing and see if that helps some.
Yes, my activities are severely limited too. I have seen all sorts of doctors and specialists with no results. Acupuncture for three months did not help me. I may try again with another practitioner.

I too post covid 1 week now, have had ringing in ears so bad it affects my sight, loud noises hurt, concentration and dizzyness. Blocked ears like I have water in them with pain which is so annoying difficulty sleeping & reading. Been treated with antibiotics ear drops nothing is relieving the ear issue. Can’t go to work as I cannot cope with the blocked & ringing in the ears.
