Something has helped clear my mind of fog
I've been suffering what we refer to as "brain fog for over a year. I had improvement with a short course of steroids 6 months ago but it was short lived. Someone recently gifted me NAC supplement with information+ I've been taking 600 mgs 2-3 times a day. This formulation is compounded with molybdenum +selenium. I noticed an improvement very quickly. I have clearer thinking, better short memory, improved executive functioning and higher tolerance for less than ideal sleep. I can concentrate very well now. And my overall mental processing is faster. I'm more verbal now. It's been a change that had endured for several weeks. I'm had no other changes in anything. Just this.
My experience is subjective and there's no way I can claim this supplement is the catalyst for improvement. It could have been an improvement just bc of time. My results don't *prove*- but since there are no side effects or contraindications that I know of, I'm continuing to take this, along with several other supplements.
I just wanted to pass this along. It's inexpensive and if people are just experimenting, this may be something to 'try.'

NAC is a non-essential amino acid that is man-made. It was originally developed as a medication not an OTC supplement. WebMD and other sites discuss it in general. It's sold on Walmart, Amazon + other sites. It's basically an anti oxidant. with a special benefit for brain health. Stands for N- Acytl-Cysteine.
The improvement in the quality of my brain function is noteworthy. I appreciate every gain.
What other supplements besides NAC are you taking at the same time you are taking the NAC? So glad for you that your "brain fog" has been improving. All the best.
I also take NAC. I have taken it for awhile and glad to know it may be helping. I also just started B12 (among other supplements) to help with Cognition and fatigue.
I bought some NAC and have taken it for a couple of days. Hope it works!
Hi @rsfcowgirl I ve just found your post. Would like to know if you are still having benefits from NAC. I found this article: https://www.yalemedicine.org/news/long-covid-brain-fog-treatment
I would like to know what approaches are helping you all towards mental clarity. Thanks
Hi. Interesting article.
I have been taking NAC each morning + occasionally a 2nd 600 mg dose in the mid afternoon as well. I don't take it evenings bc it's subtly energizing + interferes with sleep. I noted distinct mental improvement from the start. These have maintained or improved over continued use. Alertness, focus, immediate planning capability, ability to envision a near future conceptually for longer term planning, some sense of well being, calmer feeling and ability to complete activities (light, small ones), vision improvement+ restored reading comprehension are what I believe I have gained. This product was an addition to a larger self care plan I've been testing. So I can't accurately assess NAC on it's own standing bc it's part of a multi-supplement approach. But what I do believe is that this compound has been significantly therapeutic for me from the start of taking it. I plan to continue taking it.
Thanks for sharing. If it’s not too much asking, which of your supplements additions you think work together the best for improving your mental performance (cognitive, fatigue, brain fog, focus) thanks again
