Too much cold air entering the nostrils

Posted by learningstudent @learningstudent, Apr 16, 2020

Well...Recently I have developed a weird symptom. I think I have had it for a month. My nose has no mucus, booger and when I inhale, I feel like there is too much air entering my nostrils so I have to use something to block part of it. Otherwise I feel so uncomfortable and suffocated. My right nostril is getting worse, there is no congestion or anything and sometimes my face or nose seems to lose sensation. When the turbinates work normally, they will shrink and swell up and provide warm air but this does not happen to my nose. All the air I breathe in is cold and is not warm at all. I am just wondering what causes it because for people who have atrophic sinusitis, they will have nose blockage. But I do not, I feel my nose is so empty and too much air entering them when inhaling even my nose is not dried. I hope somebody could help.

I have checked my nose, I do not see any turbinates, only hair and the holes of my nose. I have never done any turbinate reduction or nasal surgery.

Not for anxiety but for higher rate and that was the first time that I had ever used it for a month only but stopped it cold turkey. The doc said he used it for high blood pressure himself but then he only used 25mg and he prescribed me 50mg. A few days after I used it it kinda changed my internal system and then I felt less alert and became a bit of sluggish.

I have also used a couple of supplements but is of no use and they do not seem to work. My issues are not just the nose but has similar symptoms to autonomous nervous system problem but after the tilt table test they said it was normal. But then now it still leaves me with a lot of problems. My cold hands and feet are obvious but the docs do not really care and only my pt acknowledges that and no cure but told me a way to cope with it.

I am not sure if naturopathic docs could really solve these weird problems.

Btw do u feel fluid when u press your head against something such as pillow. I used to have it which was normal to me and now it is gone so I have ens.

Beta blockers leave the system through the kidneys & liver - about 50% the first 24 hours, the remainder gradually over a number of days. I am not sure if there is anything you can do to hurry the process.
Here is a description, with links to several articles, of how the elimination works: https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/1982759/
What is your concern about the beta blockers in your system?

Hi there, I had the similar issue due to regular use of nasal rinse and medicated sprays for rhinitis . however using nasal oil ( sesame seed) couple of times a day has helped in lubricating the nasal passage and resolved it

sesame seed oil from the grocery store?

Did you ever get a resolve to your nose thing?

@joannap-you mentioned you saw a provider who is an expert in ENS. I’m curious as whom this provider is and if they could possibly help others experiencing this? I have yet to hear of a provider who is an expert in ENS. It would be helpful to make contact.

@nrd1 Hi, I hope you have found relief from your ENS! I never imagined having such a “safe and non-invasive” procedure to aid in nasal breathing could totally disrupt my life. I am desperate for help as the milder treatments have not helped. If you have found any specialists, please share with me?? Thank you!
