I had Covid over Thanksgiving and got over it fine but I have had these waves of nausea periodically throughout the day. My doctor prescribed some medicine but when I read the description it says it is also used for schizophrenia and anxiety. I'm definitely not taking that. I did buy some pesto bismol liquigels and they help but I don't want to take them all the time. I do have some headaches that can cause nausea too. I'm getting my eyes checked this week. Anyone else have this problem?

KTgirl, I moved your message to this existing discussion about nausea and digestive issues and long-COVID. I did this so you can connect with other members experiencing these side effects and finding solutions, like @antonsc@lweed1956@jwatzig.
I’ve had the 2 Moderna vaccines plus a booster and I don’t go out of my house except for work and groceries. Somehow I got covid 2 weeks ago and I still have a lot of nausea. I feel like I’m going to vomit at any minute. I even get dry heaves. I drink a lot of Gatorade and water. I just want to feel normal again. I try to eat but can only stomach 1/2 a meal at most.
First, sorry to hear of your continuing nausea after getting infection. In my circle of friend I am hearing of more long term effects….a lot of headaches and nausea….that is affecting all age groups. The best thing I ever found for occasional nausea was ginger. I keep ginger tea at home…there are ginger “candies” to suck on but they seem to be mostly sugar. If you use ginger root in cooking you can brew your own tea. If not, any supermarket or drugstore has ginger tea. They say that cold foods help instead of hot foods.
I just want to remind everyone that being vaccinated and boosted does not stop the transmission of Covid or any of its variants . It does (or is suppose to) lessen the severity of the illness and keep you from being hospitalized or dying.
You are being hydrated with Gatorade and water so that is good. Eat what you can of simple meals and try snacking on dry crackers and toast along with the ginger tea. I really recommend it. That feeling of constant nausea takes so much out of you. I hope it disappears soon.
I had Covid in January 2022 which didn't pick up on rapid tests on 2 visits to a clinic. Put on antibiotics twice . I knew I was positive when my son and husband got it. I was sick, weak, short of breath, dizzy with standing or sitting, coughing, nausea/vomiting and diarrhea. I was unable to tolerate anything but ice chips and Popsicles. I was in bed for 6 weeks. Continued congestion and headaches led me to an ENT. Tried antibiotics and prednisone without relief so CT showed my sinuses were completely blocked. Had sinus surgery in April. In May, a papercut got infected and I got cellulitis. Took until July to heal and 3 rounds of antibiotics. In August, I was diagnosed with C-Diff ( I have IBS-D so diarrhea is a constant) I'm allergic to VANCOMYCIN so took Dificid. During these past 9 months I have lost 45 pounds, still can't eat more than a few bites followed by severe nausea. My GI doctor put me on Zofran and wants to retest for C-Diff. I have RA, fibromyalgia and type 2 diabetes. My A1C is 5.4 on metformin and Ozempic. We decreased the latter to see if it would help the nausea. I had to stop my methotrexate I take for RA, with each infection. I had a normal colonoscopy and EGD last September. I had an esophageal stricture that was dilated. I'm on Prilosec 40mg for a long history of GERD.
Where to I go from here? I'm literally sick of being sick!

What med did your doc prescribe? Was it ondansetron (zofran)? My doc only gave me 1 script, but it was very effective. When I could not eat at all for days due to extreme nausea, it helped.
My nausea seems to have been caused by Cymbalta. One pill makes me sick for 3 days. ALL my docs were INSISTING it was not Cymbalta and I should continue it. I spent thousands on docs and tests… I finally took myself off and started to improve. Now Covid has seemed to aggravate my stomach again.
Anyway, if this is the drug, it helped me, but they’d never give me more. I think Dr said it can mess with brain chemicals. If it’s a dif drug, maybe you can try it to get some relief. I’m glad you’re asking questions and researching. You cannot trust your health or life to anyone, regardless of their degrees.

Sorry to hear this. My friend has c-diff and has suffered so. I also have RA and can’t imagine going without my Humira. I pray they find something to help you. Hugs!

I was scheduled to start Humira but it was put on hold while I had cellulitis and then when I got C-Diff it was put on hold indefinitely.
