Calcium Scoring Test

Posted by lainie64 @lainie64, Dec 17, 2018

I just had an EKG come back abnormal.....and had a calcium scoring test. My score was 108. My doctor had me come into his office immediately to put me on low does metoprolol and said to take aspirin everyday. I don't have cardiology appointment till Wed. In the meantime I'm scared to death......is this a real high score and what will happen now? Anyone????

So true about the statin link to diabetes risk, it's one reason I've halved my rosuvastatin dose (after consulting with a cardiologist).

Good on you! After doing the necessary research on statins, the lies from pharma, and the myriad of side effects, I will not put those toxins in my body, after not consulting with a pharma-bought cardiologist. In 3 years, I have reduced my CAC score from 3,600 to 2,200 with diet and supplements only. I will get my next CAC in 4 months. I will be breaking the 2,000 barrier!!

I just had my 2nd CAC but didn't get results yet. 2.5 years ago the score was 541. I am LCHF, 16/8 eating window and take a lot of lysine, proline, vitamin C, K2, D Mag, tocotrienols and more. What supplements have you been using to get such a large reduction?

I do LCHF, 17/7 IF, and supplements include Lysine, C, K2 MK-4, K, MK-7, D3, Mag, E. I also throw in HIRT weights and ride a recumbent trike 20 miles 4 days a week. I work at a stand-up desk and when sitting, use a balance ball.

We are pretty much on the same page, I do High Impact Interval Training (not sure what HIRT is) and am very active with walks, high energy drumming and projects. I am 67, retired almost a year ago. I hope I get reductions in that CAC. I passed a standard stress test but EKG showed some abnormality that my cardiologist has scheduled me for a nuclear stress test at the end of March. That will show whether or not I have soft plaque. I refused a statin so far. I had problems with them 15 years ago and the data I've seen on them makes me wonder why I should take them.

HIIT/HIRT ... R=Resistance. I do heavy weight training on all the broad muscles. So, we both pass the standard stress test in the gym each time we go. Keep up the excellent work!! You are kicking it!

Calcium is good. It is stable plaque. To slow overall progression, 40 mg Crestor, eat less! 5 mg Zetia

My goal is to REDUCE progression, not slow progression. Especially not to slow it with statins as statins have been proved over and over to actually Increase the calcium. Good luck to you Mark.

I am doing everything that is documented in Pub Med and the rest of the science trials... Strict LCHF diet with < 20 g carbs/day, supplements to include D3, Mag, K2, boron, E and C and throw in some exercising every day. I do HIRT weight training and ride a recumbent trike 20-30 miles 4 days a week. Read the book "The Calcium Paradox" and learn the things the Pharma industry does not want you to know.
