Mayo Clinic pulmonology Jacksonville FL
I have an appointment with Dr. Baig at Jacksonville. Have any of you had any experience with him? I have MAC, bronchiectasis and asthma. What should I expect, do you think that he will have other ideas other than the 3 or (4) drug program the most pulmonogists put you on?

May I ask which doctor you saw?
@bonniewhite56 Bonnie, I have been seeing Dr Kukhon who is working as a "fellow" under Dr Margaret Johnson. I saw Dr Johnson on my first visit then follow-up was with Dr Kukhon. I was impressed with both doctors, they were well versed with Bronchiectasis and Mycobacterial lung infections. Dr Kukhon will be leaving Mayo clinic in June 2022 for a more permanent position somewhere else. In my opinion Mayo is not going to hire anyone but the best in their field. Bill
Has anyone seen Dr Ortega at the Mayo Clinic in Arizona? The doctor I saw at Mayo in Jacksonville retired. Need to get appointment but don’t know who is best. Thanks for your help.
I think @trissi @lindam272 @joan912 may have info on Mayo Clinic in Arizona.
I'm sorry I can't help as I have not been to Mayo. I go to Phoenix Children's Hospital for their Adult Cystic Fibrosis clinic and National Jewish Health. @lindam272
Today I meet Dr B, an appointment that I made 2 months ago.
I got a note from them to fast, eat healthy, no alcohol the night before the appointment.
Dr B seemed surprised that I expected a blood test, and no other appointments were made. Last time I was given a line up of my appointments after talking with Dr. which included breathing test, sputum test, blood test, CT scan.
This was wasn’t done this time. I had blood, test today, tomorrow we stay in our hotel and no tests were able to scheduled tomorrow. Then the following day one test scheduled for 6:45 AM, another for 2:45PM.
I am very disappointed with what Mayo HAS NOT done for me.
I hope that can make up for their lack of preparation.

Thanks for all of the info. We are just going back home tomorrow.
This was really my last chance for some help and I feel very let down. I’ve been coughing more now than ever, had Covid test and it was negative.
Sharon, I feel the same way as you. Two appts ago, I had only a lung function test and none of the others that I used to get. I had wondered if it was due to cutbacks, or possibly not enough drs for all of the patients? Is it possible that covid has worn done everybody? Perhaps the medical profession is tired of dealing with all of the sickness. I also wonder if the Mayo feels like it's losing its roots as a research institution and becoming more of a routine care kind of place. I dunno. It def does not run as the well oiled machine that it once did.
Hi Terri, without a doubt all hospitals are under intense strain given the demands of the pandemic. Please know that Mayo Clinic is committed to ensuring that you get the level of care that you are accustomed to receiving at Mayo Clinic. I strongly recommend that you also report this recent visit to the Office of Patient Experience. They will want to hear more and rectify the situation.
What other tests do you typically have done at your appointments besides the lung function test?
