COVID vaccines and neuropathy
I am 85 with small fiber neuropathy that is getting worse. My neurologist thought it would be a good idea for me to wait with the covid vaccine and not be first in line to see how it affected other people with neuropathy. Probably because it is a new technology. Has anyone had a problem with neuropathy after receiving the vaccine? If so, which vaccine?

I never have experienced neuropathy in my life after first Pfizer I have had numbness tingling Paraesthesia tinnitus vertigo and lately high blood pressure and blurred vision second Pfizer is on hold does this get worse before it gets better?
Your symptoms may improve (hopefully) and I sympathize but vacs do effect our immune system and sometimes cause side effects. I have not as yet gotten a booster for this reason, my dr. said ok to hold off for a while until more info.
I got small fiber neuropathy in the same year that I got three Covid-19 Moderna shots. Are the two related? How could I tell?
Very possible!
I would like to see Mayo give some insight into the booster and peripheral neuropathy. Mine began around the same time as first two shots. Holding off on booster to get more information. You can’t even get a neurologist there and I am having a very hard time finding one in Scottsdale.
My immune-mediated PN began 2 weeks after the first Pfizer vaccination. I won't be getting the booster. There are a few published case reports that link the vaccines to PN. There are also reports in the popular press. There is a Facebook group for vaccine-injured people. The members are reporting similar neurological symptoms.
There has already been a case of sfn attributed to the vaccines so sadly, it very well may be. We have no idea of the long term effects since the trials were conducted so quickly...
I have had symptoms of Neuropathy for over 20 years, undiagnosed. I went to Doctor after Doctor, specialist, Hospital, surgeries, went to the ER 4 times, still undiagnosed!. The Neurologist was my last hope and she did nothing, knew nothing about my pain. Finally, my hand Doctor (believe it or not) sent me to a Doctor who was well informed, three years ago. My story is long, but the point I wanted to make is I have had the Maderna Vaccine, three in total. I was a little tired with all three, but no other side effects. The chance I would take NOT getting the vaccine is is FAR greater risk than getting the shots to protect myself and others.
I just watched Albert Baurla, CEO from Pfizer, and it was well worth the time to get an overview. I would recommend it. Also, I exercise and take CBD for pain and that helps me. ( I am 87)
Oh that’s interested. I am in NZ and I have had PN for the past seven years after the second Pfizer I have had flare ups and my pain is much worse. Around 3 to 4 weeks after it though. I did report it. Not keen at all to have the booster. Where can I find this information please ?
You are doing amazing!
