Medications for depression and anxiety

Posted by ainsleigh @ainsleigh, Mar 8, 2018

I am interested in discussions re medications. I have been on Fluoxetine 10 mg daily, Ativan 1 mg and Clonazepam 0.5 mg daily for decades. Attempts to go without (after very gradual withdrawal under supervision of Doctor) eventually resulted in return of depression and anxiety. Dr.felt I needed them and I have continued on them. In no case have I ever had to increase the dose of any of them. There seems to be a general feeling the latter 2 are addictive and have to eventually be increased. I have not found this to be the case and wonder how others have found these drugs.

What may I ask does titration mean? I have tinnitus brought on by taking the Blood pressure medication Metoprolol. I'm getting a new primary care doctor in January, and will be asking her alot of questions. In the last 10 months I've experienced A-fib, breast cancer, c-diff brought on by chemotherapy, along with neuropathy. Right breast mastectomy and soon to have reconstructive surgery(implants).

As individuals our response to medication withdrawal can and do vary greatly. Especially when it involves antidepressants which are notorious in this specific capacity. Whether it’s real or psychological the emotional and/or physical response is unique to each individual and experienced accordingly and needs to be addressed. Period.

This is why she needs to contact her pharmacist or doctor. It would be highly highly unusual to experience these symptoms with 9 days of Prozac use. There could be something else going on. Period.
