What's outside of your picture window today?

Posted by John, Volunteer Mentor @johnbishop, Nov 25, 2020

As we get ready for the real winter to show up and COVID-19 still playing a major part in our lives I like to spend moments of my day de-stressing about what's going on in the world today. All I have to do is look out the window and observe some of natures beautiful creatures, how they interact and ponder how small it makes my troubles seem. Sometimes I may even get the opportunity to take a photo or two. How about you? Anything going on outside of your window(s) that you want to share?

For those members that have the ability to size your photos before you upload them to the discussion, may I suggest using the following sizes:
– 500 x 335 pixels (landscape)
– 210 x 210 pixels (square)

@ess77 I don't remember that particular song but I loved the Smothers Brothers. They were a great duo.

Oh my gosh, we finally got some rain this month! I do believe we have had more rain this month than we have had all year long! The wild turkeys nest and rear their young in our pasture area and then fly across the road into our timber when they get older. We have three Standard Poodles that know to leave the turkeys alone, and they do. We don't let anyone hunt turkey on our timber or pasture, so they know this is a safe place. Love seeing them!

@paulalinaa we get a lot of wild turkeys around here and I heard of someone who had left their car out in their driveway and the turkeys pecked at it making dings! Apparently they were reacting to their reflection so the moral of the story is if there are turkeys around put your car in the garage!

@artist01 @ess77 @jakedduck1 @artscaping @sueinmn and pals… Jack Frost was nipping at the plants this morning! And now that the summer foliage is gone, look at the gorgeous moss on this log!!

Beautiful - as you know, I especially love the moss. No frost yet, and here it is 78F on the 18th of October in Minneapolis - must be close to a record!

@loribmt Oh gosh, Lori, Jack Frost is such an artist! The moss-covered logs are awesome, but look at those autumn leaves etched so beautifully on their edges by his paint brush. Love it!

@loribmt You really have an eye for photography. Those pictures are so pretty but most of us wouldn't even notice the scenes. One of my cousins is a professional photographer in Maine and MA and I love her work because she does see things that most of us just do not notice.

@sueinmn No frost here yet in NH! I can't believe it's already mid-October. Temps are getting chilly though.

@contentandwell I love the Smothers brother too and I saw them live in concert many years ago. There is one DVD of their show that we found, but most was not released, perhaps it was lost to time or the powers that be. So funny..

We had a whole flock in the round pen yesterday, thank God for that rain. We haven’t gotten a lot but I am grateful for every single drop.
