Does anyone have these problems? How do you handle it?

You most definitely have courage that I admire. Thank you for inspiring me with my own anxiety and mental health problems. A divorce when my spouse left me because of my chronic pain, left me devastated. Her Karma will have to deal w it.

Strong individuals like you give me hope. I am a retired scientist, and re-seeking my gnostic roots. Pain, anxiety, PTSD, inability to concentrate, being non-binary, it all adds up to a tough road to travel. Lin

She’s studying with a Jewish scholar who published a translation of the Zohar. She’s grateful to be in such a knowledgeable group. It took him nine years to complete the translation.

Hi Clutch, I have prescription Zofran but I am only allowed two 4 mg tablets a day so I try to rough it out. I drink chamomile tea unsweetened or ginger tea unsweetened. Coke syrup helps and sometimes even a swallow or two of flat Coca Cola although I haven't had a soft drink in years. I had some seasick gum I tried for a while which didn't offer much help and I got that fancy honey from New Zealand which was nice but not effective. Pepcid (20 mg) a day helps somewhat. Applesauce is a stand by. I don't know what else there is and would welcome your suggestions.

For Non-Rx remedies I have tried Nauzene which is an OTC tablet that dissolves in mouth. It works for milder cases of nausea.
I use Celestial Seasoning Lemon Zinger Ginger tea that helps also. I also purchased a Nausea “Releif Band” from Amazon that seems to help and has great reviews. I traded the new model in for the original one, because the pulses to your wrist seem stronger and you can replace the battery when it dies. The new model just recharges, but didn’t last very long.
I have a long list of Rx meds that I’ve taken, too, in case you’re interested.
And by the way, I’ve also used CBD/THC tinctures, with some success, if available where you live. Let me know if you need more, in terms of RX therapy, or if anything here works.

Thank you for your response. Interestingly enough yesterday, my neighbor friend gave me Nauzene tablets but they were way out of date. When I tried to order from Amazon, the ingredients changed and include now aspirin and caffeine which I think is counter intuitive. My neighbor's Nauzene was entirely different and included dextrose and levulose. I went to CVS yesterday but they didn't have the liquid form of the dextrose/levulose formula. I do drink Yogi or Tazo ginger tea. I looked at relief bands and my wrists are so tiny that I don't think it would work and I don't want to chance buying something for almost $250 and have to send it back. I have a TENS unit for my back and it is a nuisance to apply the sticky pads although I know the reliefband uses a gel. What is out there other than phenergan and zofran? Suggestions appreciated. I sent my Motility CRNP a portal message this morning explaining my concern as I am losing weight due to food turning my stomach. I had a clear ultrasound Friday and a good endoscopy a week ago. No clinical reasons for the way I feel but there has to be something. Thanks again for looking at my posting.

Ginger chews, by Prince of Peace help my nausea, but just short term.
The Original classic Relief Band is only $129 and has an adjustable band for most any size wrist. It also allows you to replace batteries, which the premier version doesn’t. Its electric signal seems stronger too. It’s worth a try…works for many.
Compazine is in the same class as phenergan, but not as effective, for me.
Olanzipine (Zyprexa) is a powerful medicine against nausea. Combine with mirtazipine to spike your appetite. This combination saved me from becoming malnourished as a result of chronic nausea. The Scopolamine patch has worked for some folks, but not for me. Good luck with these. Let us know how it goes…we can go from there. BTW, what further progress have you made on finding a cause for the nausea? Have you recently discontinued any Rx medication?

Bloodwork, endoscopy, ultrasound all negative for a reason. Having a breath test in November to measure overabundance of bacteria in "gut". Have been prescribed up to 4 zofran a day but it is constipating which is a problem I already have. I think constipation plays a role and because I have no appetite, I can't tolerate foods I unsed to love like vegetables and whole grains. Motility specialist has put in an order for a nutrition consult in the next two weeks. I have been trying to eat more and frequently. I do use Benefiber but all the other "fibers and softeners make me sick" so I have to go with suppositories and "the bag" to get things moving. Can't believe I am talking about this. Ginger does make me feel better and lorazepam takes the anxiety off the worry. I am off gabapentin and ropinirole and I am cutting back the medrol I believe it will take a while until those medications are out of my system. I thought the original classic relief band was discontinued but I will look at Amazon again to see. Thank you for your fine report, I appreciate it.

What have you tried for nausea? I too, have chronic nausea and it’s just awful, to say the least! I could suggest some
things to try as I have had them all, nearly.
I am so sorry for your loss. That makes everything tougher to deal with. Let me know if I can help.

I purchased a Gut Health test kit & learned from it’s report what bacteria were out of wack. One bacteria indicated I needed to make a higher priority out of dental hygiene, so I am using my dentist’s prescription toothpaste & flossing more religiously.

The test results helped guide me on what foods to include in my meals to rebalance. I don’t know if it is the placebo effect or not, an apple a day, etc. seems to help, my nausea has thankfully been tamed.

@tarmansbks Hi. Suzanne here. You have taken so many of the same steps I’ve taken to relieve my symptoms of chronic constipation that leads to an inability to eat. And weight loss. The FODMAP diet has helped and so has small frequent meals.

Learning how to eat like a bird is more difficult than I thought. We’ve been raised and socialized to eat three substantial meals a day. Ordering a meal when out with friends isn’t possible now. It requires a change of habit that fundamentally goes against the way we/I’ve lived for 70 years. But here I am fine tuning my diet.

A good rice, organic brown, basmati, red, black, I try to vary it so I don’t get sick of rice, is my retreat when I get out of wack.

I have swallowing problems, stomach emptying probs, and constipation. They’re all related. I take citalopram and Wellbutrin for depression and have reluctantly resorted to a weekly use of laxative hoping to give my gut some relief. Or am I doing more harm?

I’m sorry for your chronic nausea. That must be horrible to live with. But it certainly is a help to have a forum where we don’t have to be shy about discussing our issues. I feel nauseous when my stomach can’t take anymore food but I want to eat but I’m unable to.

Another contributing factor in my case is my years with bulimia, which is probably at the root of my issues also.

I hope you find what works for you. And I’ll share anything that might be helpful. For now, wishing you all the best.

@linh I read you got a gut health kit. I would like to know which one and where to order. I’m always looking for ways to investigate my gut issues. Thanks. Suzanne

Forgot to ask, if not too intrusive, were you ever diagnosed with a reason for your nausea? No reply necessary if this is too personal. Thank you.
