Covid risks with aneurysms

Posted by dinis @dinis, Aug 21, 2021

The CDC doesn't list those of us with an aneurysm and the risk of Covid on an aneurysm rupture but it would make sense the risk is greatly increased through higher blood pressure and other stressors on the aneurysm being ill with Covid. Does anyone know how doctors are addressing this or why it isn't listed as a serious risk with the CDC like other conditions? Waiting to get Covid and see if it ruptures to get the data for CDC yo determine the risk doesn't seem like a smart idea to me.

I think all that those of us with aneurysms or other underlying health issues can just do the best we can do which means to me, being vaccinated, getting the booster when my Doc says I should do so, staying out of crowds, wearing a mask, washing my hands. There is nothing more I can do to stay covid-free so I just won't worry about it.

I agree. I was just wondering how the CDC decides to list some conditions as risks and others like aneurysms are not even listed at all. This has implications for the individual because in some job settings some people can get accommodations based on their risk factors while others cannot.
