Does anyone here have or know anything about PAD?

I have mild pad. My legs have brownsplotches, unlearned that plaque is building up and narrowing blood flow. This makes it more difficult for sores to heal on legs. It may give you pain and ferocious veins on some. You have to carefully watch as you can get a blood clot which could kill you. Cholesterol levels and changing your diet is crutial and 2alking to get the blood moving.
I found the more help was a calcium score test given with out prescription for about 99.00 at your local hospital. The federal goverment respects this test so much you have to have it yo check plaque in your body or you can not go into outer space

I had an angioplasty done on my left leg in may this year. Lately after I walk about a half mile my left calf starts to hurt to the point I have to stop for a few minutes. Is the blockage returning. If so do I need a stent. Leon

Hi @leongreenjr, I'm tagging members like @thankful @pete398 @peach414144 @seniordon09 @eileena @bonitav and others who have experience with peripheral artery disease.

Leon, is the calf pain a new symptom? Were you able to walk longer distances after the angioplasty?

No, calf pain started in Dec 2019. Angioplasty in May 2020, no pain till July. Now I can't walk a half mile without stopping, pain is that bad. Do I need a stent

That is something your cardiologist should hear about. If you had angioplasty done once there is a chance that another artery has started to close down have him look at the blood pathways down the legs heart might be good but veins that branch off to the legs might now have created a problem good luck dave

My husband has PAD. He was diagnosed probably two years ago. Has recently had a trans metatarsal operation on the left foot. Two toes amputated on the right foot. The swelling is so bad I fear it is hampering the wound sight from healing.

I have chronic venous insufficiency. Is this in the same family of medicine that you are looking for? Also three stents in the iliac veins. Also have been with this group for many years

I am not sure. We will be going to a new vascular surgeon in two weeks. Each time previously they have nit said anything about the veins. I will look up iliac veins, since I am unfamiliar. Thanks for the concern.
