Help: Chest pain, high heart rate, exhaustion
Update: I'm still having chest pain almost 4 months, high heart rate and now exhaustion. Every test has came back normal and my doctor doesn't really know what else to do. Does anyone on here know if it would be worth it to go to Mayo and see if they can't figure it out. I'm at my witts end, I'm in pain 24/7 and I don't know what else to do. For anyone who hasn't been following my journey the tests I've had done are CT of abdomen and pelvis, echo, chest xray, multiple blood tests, holter monitor, ekgs, kidney Doppler and ultrasound, upper GI scope. I've also tried medications like proilsec, a prescription for anti-inflammatory. These havent helped my chest pain.

You certainly have a routine that helps you. You are very fortunate to be able to keep your cats. I would do just about anything to be able to have a pet but I know from experience it’s hopeless, even if you bathe them once a week! Poor kitties. It’s odd but I have never had a chest infection other than with a cold or flu. I Just get pain in the chest and upper back, tightness, difficulty getting enough oxygen, or that is what it feels like and coughing. I have a down pillow and that seems to be ok. I have not had an attack since I came home to Montreal from visiting my cousin in Florida ( she has a small dog). I never had any allergies until about the age forty however people in my family do have asthma, and we nearly lost my little brother to asthma so I am well aware of the danger it can cause.
I do have 2 dogs and a cat. The thing is, I’ve been around dogs before and never had issues, and then I got a new puppy so not sure what is happening. My allergies are also under decent control it’s literally just my chest. My pulmonologist is trying things but nothing is working. Cardiac tests come back fine, but my heart rate is a little high. My primary dr is doing more tests to atleast eliminate some possibilities. My health anxiety is through the roof now and wondering how much is that manifesting into physical symptoms
Some animals are prone to causing more allergies, in my case chest pain, than others. I had a Doberman die of heart failure (that at the time didn’t give me allergies) and no pets at home until I got a German Shepard puppy and he immediately made me wheeze and hurt my chest.
Very interesting. It’s one of the things I’ll be testing to find the cause of all of this. The other dog I also don’t have a lot of interactions with but the new puppy of course I’ve been close to for a few months now
My allergist said a typical thing is kids at home where there are pets go away to university in the fall feeling fine, come home at Thanksgiving or Christmas and suddenly they become allergic. Apparently once they go into an environment where there are no pets, their systems adjust to a no pet environment and, if allergy prone, once they come home they develop allergies.
For months now this pain in my chest comes and goes and is excruciating. I have asthma and GERD. Ive been put on new asthma and allergy meds and my breathing has been checked religiously and checks out fine. Ive had several recent EKGs and nothing can be found. I’m wondering if something musculoskeletal can be responsible for this. Lately my butt/leg/foot has been in pain and sciatica could def be the cause. Could that also cause chest pain? The pain can be anywhere on my chest. Left/right/middle/nearing the shoulder and hurts when pressed on. Also pain/pressure immediately when lying flat on back.
GERD can cause chest pain. Also, it could be that you have irritated nerves from all the other things going on in your body, and you need to get them calmed down. Finally, you say you have new meds, so check the possible side effects and drug interactions.
Good luck figuring this out.

@cjfutrell could it be costochondritis?
It could be I feel like I’ve suffered before from it but there’s really no way of knowing until you rule out everything else
Hi so my husband has been having chest pain for a long time on the left side. We done all kinds of tests blood work X-ray ekg ct scans EVERYTHING and everything is normal. It’s really painful to the point where he feels fatigued and nauseous even. His hands and legs feel really weak and has to lie down. He also shakes a little. We really need help with this it’s been going on for years and doctors could not figure out what’s wrong with him.
