Yes I had head tremor, forearms, hands, and with this surgery the head tremor is
100%gone. The procedure is called deep brain stimulation or DBS. Mine started
when I was in my 20's and slowly it got worse. I'm 66 now. I hope you can find a
cure too. None of the medications worked well but I know there are many out there.
Maybe one of them would work for you. Don't give up! I started to give up being with

Last June (1911) ad the second was in October (1911). Had my 6 month checkup
and all is just fine. This can really change your life and I would recommend it to
anyone.

ncgrama, I am 67 and on medicare. Medicare covered it all. Do you have a
medical center near by? I'm thinking Duke university. I had to go to Seattle (Swedish Hospital) about 3 hours from here. One of the drawback of living on the edge of nowhere. If there is anything you would like to know, just post me.
I have what has been diagnosed as a benign tremor in my left hand. The whole side is weaker and it causes me not to be able to balance my right and left sides.s..what is a benign tremor?
My tremor sometimes rouses the attention of people wherever I am, and some people find it necessary to make a comment, like "are you alright?" or "do you need help bringing the groceries to the car?" I resent these comments, considering I am an extremely physically fit individual who can hike 10 miles, lift heavy weights and practice difficult yoga, and the comments are made by people who are probably not as fit as I am. I regard this as an intrusion and wish it would not happen. What should my response be? I sometimes say "why are you asking?" but they never come out with "because you are shaking", or I say "I'm fine, and how are you?" although I really would like to say "that's not none of your business" or something to that effect. I'm sure I am not alone!

Linda, get yourself to a Movement Disorder, Neurologist. Not just any ole neurologist - Movement Disorder - ONLY! Many doctors don't know about tremors, Spasmodic Torticollis, Essential Tremor, Blephospasms, and many other movement disorders! Some doctors will even call you mentally ill. Don't get me started on doctors. When you get the right Movement Disorder Neurologist, they may do an EMG, check your walk, do neuro checks, and Klonopin works for me. It helps with the Spasms, tremors, pain, pulling and HELL! There is also surgery. I had Selective Denervation and it's helped a lot.
Me too. I've learned certain meds can cause them -Lamotrigine, valproic acid, onfi can all do it. It can also be hereditary, and it can happen from the type(s) of seizures Left temporal lobe and left hippocampus. My seizures are much more controlled but after 3700 seizures my right hand and arm are weaker than the left. I do finger and hand exercises squeeze a ball and grip pro hand weights different tensions play like a piano. It"s 122797

When did you have your first DBS?
