Cyst on Pancreas?
So recently i had a CT Abdomen Pelvis w/ Contrast and they found a cystic structure to arise on the Pancreas . Said it could represent a serous/mucinous neoplasm. Anyone knows what that means ??? Thank You. ( 57 year old male.)

Hello again @faithann64
Here is some information from Mayo Clinic about pancreatic cysts and the endoscopic ultrasound (EUS). If you are not sure whether your upcoming endoscopy will be an ultrasound you might consider calling your doctor to clarify. In my situation, because I previously had two surgeries for carcinoid cancer in the duodenal bulb, I insisted on the endoscopic ultrasound as the first doctor that I saw did not think it necessary. You, of course, should follow your own best judgment in this matter along with your physician's input.

Here is some more information from Cleveland Clinic. They also speak about endoscopic ultrasound.

I understand that your previous question about how the pancreatic cysts were found was directed to @wrolsen, however, my cysts were also found on a CT scan for another digestive issue and I was then told to follow up with an MRI.
Thank You, Did you also have any prior symptoms ?? And i hope all turned out ,,,ok for you. Thnks
It was found with test being done for something else.
@faithann64 You asked about prior symptoms before I learned about the pancreatic cysts. When these were found I had two previous cancer surgeries of the upper digestive tract for a rare form of cancer, carcinoid cancer. (Needless to say, the discovery of these cysts gave me a scare.)
No, symptoms with either cancer or for the pancreatic cysts have been evident to me. Since I had the EUS the cysts in the pancreas are monitored with MRIs and so far they remain stable and do not appear to be problematic.
I hope that this helps you.

Hi @rynol and welcome to Mayo Clinic Connect. I can see you have a new worry and plenty of questions about your husband's potential cyst on the pancreas. Questions like
- how serious is this?
- Should he have a scope done?

@rynol, how was the possible cyst discovered? What follow-up tests have been suggested to confirm or rule out a cyst?
They have suggested that he get a biopsy of a lymph node. We have an appointment with an oncologist tomorrow.
Hi @rynol, any news? How did the appointment with the oncologist go?
So my Gastro Doctors office finally called yesterday and said they scheduled my Endoscopy Ultrasound for Monday the 5th of April. Its been a little over a month since they found the cyst ( Pancreas) on a CT a stomach ?? Having my MRI this Sunday to look at my Pancreas . Nervous because i'm thinking they taken to long ??
Hi again @faithann64,
I really appreciate your update. It sounds as if your doctors are following a reasonable protocol. The MRI is the best way to see these cysts and the EUS that you will have sounds appropriate as well. That was the order of my diagnosis, too.
Here is some information from Mayo Clinic's website about pancreatic cysts, https://www.mayoclinic.org/medical-professionals/digestive-diseases/news/more-data-needed-to-guide-pancreatic-cyst-management/mac-20430487.
Do your best to not worry (I know that it is easier said than done). If possible, do something to get your mind off of it for now. Once your doctor has the results of the MRI and the EUS you will have more information.
I look forward to hearing from you again. Will you post an update after your procedures?
