@rynol, how was the possible cyst discovered? What follow-up tests have been suggested to confirm or rule out a cyst?

They have suggested that he get a biopsy of a lymph node. We have an appointment with an oncologist tomorrow.

Hello @faithann64,

I can certainly understand your concern about being diagnosed with this type of pancreatic cyst. Was the CT scan done because you were having symptoms of some sort? Are there plans to do an Endoscopic Ultrasound in the near future or some other testing?

I have numerous pancreatic cysts that are monitored and have not changed over the years but I know how disconcerting it is to have anything wrong with your pancreas.

So my Gastro Doctors office finally called yesterday and said they scheduled my Endoscopy Ultrasound for Monday the 5th of April. Its been a little over a month since they found the cyst ( Pancreas) on a CT a stomach ?? Having my MRI this Sunday to look at my Pancreas . Nervous because i'm thinking they taken to long ??

I really appreciate your update. It sounds as if your doctors are following a reasonable protocol. The MRI is the best way to see these cysts and the EUS that you will have sounds appropriate as well. That was the order of my diagnosis, too.

Do your best to not worry (I know that it is easier said than done). If possible, do something to get your mind off of it for now. Once your doctor has the results of the MRI and the EUS you will have more information.

So I had the upper endoscopy ultrasound of my Pancreas this morning of the cyst. The cyst is on the head of the pancreas. Surgeon said it's Intraductal Papillary Mucinous Neoplasms. He did do a biopsy. Basically he told me will wait on results and just keep an eye on the cyst ?? Have follow up in 3 weeks. So I guess the next step is to wait on biopsy results ?

Hi! I am a caregiver for a 76 year old man who had gall bladder surgery and developed several cysts on his pancreas. Your best source of general info is on the Mayo website…just type in whatever you wnt want to know and you will find lots of info on pancreatic cysts. Gary went thru scans to determine if they needed to be removed via the Whipple procedure. It was determined by his gastro dr. and the pancreatic surgeon that one needed to be removed. It was a long process but NO cancer. He is fine today and out on the boat!
My advice….read all you can, find the best drs. in your area, go see them now! Relax! It may be nothing. Gary has 2 more cysts that are being watched and may do nothing.
If you are in FL I can give you good places to start. Just do it cuz Pancreatic cancer moves very fast…you have to be faster!
