MAC and getting the COVID vaccine
This is a wonderful team...like a real cooperativa family...we are a band of patients that strategize together...amazing. All good dialogue for “rits”...I also believe the CAT scan would be a good step...it arms the doctor with evidence.
I have another question for the group...what are the feelings on “us” being candidates for the Covid vaccine? Has anyone yet vaccinated? I see my ID doc this afternoon...it is one of my concerns. Any feedback appreciated.

I am trying to wait until the J & J vaccine is available due to having a heart syndrome, COPD and asthma. it is a one shot deal and from all information I can get, there have been no major reactions and it sounds like it protects us well. My allergy/asthma doc says if one hasn't had a reaction to the flu shot we should be okay with the Covid vaccines. Many Prayers for us! baz10
@ckscoville What you are feeling is not reactions to allergies. Have you tried to go online and read up on COVID vaccine reactions? The second shot is a booster to the first shot and is supposed to cause stronger reactions in people who receive it. It is normal unless the severity does not lessen in a couple of days. Then you may want to talk to your doctor about it. Hopefully you will feel better shortly.
fdixon63 yes I have shellfish allergies. I also have afib which causes me to worry since if there is an anaphylactic reaction, the treatment of epinephrine would trigger my afib and I would go right into tachycardia
Info. came via my sister in law who is a retired nurse. She said it was an anaphylactic reaction. Person had an epi pin so got treatment quickly. We're still in the early stages so more to come.
Help is on the way❤️ I got my first vaccine from our local public health department yesterday, even though our clinic is still way behind. I am SO grateful!
I got my first shot and tomorrow my second. My pulmonologist strongly recommended I do.
Got #2 today. Now, a few hours later, no headache, no fever, mild lassitude (though when I wrap this I’m going on my daily walk.) Wonderful to have it in the rear view mirror! Don
That’s awesome! Lucky you!
I just scheduled my first shot for Thursday. I have to admit, I’m a little nervous. 😬
i was nervous too. but it was fine. and its such a relief.i was joyous. im 84 and have suffered with lung cancer too. so being anxious comes with the territory. but its worth it.
