Dry mouth remedies
I have Sjogren's Syndrome that causes dry mouth. I have been using Biotene Oral Balance Dry Mouth Moisturizing Gel to help me sleep at night. I put 1/2" on my tongue and my saliva started to flow and it sting my throat when I swallowed it. May be the strong sweetness irritate my throat? Wonder if you have the same experience?
Also, any recommendation for products that you use that help your dry mouth will be greatly appreciated! Thank you!

Have you tried regular biotene rinse? There are also other dry mouth rinses over the counter. You can also ask the pharmacist. Sugar free hard candy may help.
Even tooth paste can sting when swallowed.
Never use any alcohol Based mouth rinese, as they are drying.
Hope this will help you
@ew100 I have had dry mouth for you instead of drinking water The Dr recommend Act dry mouth rinse They also have lozengers I keep at bedside
Lioness,
Where do you get the lozenges?
My dry mouth comes from allergy Rx. I only notice the dryness at night.
Yes, I have used the gel and have had the same stinging sensation, but it does help me with dry mouth. I also use a thermal mug of ice water on the nightstand for when I wake in the night. Elmay
@funcountes I get mine me from Walgreens
Thanks, but no Walgreens in area I’ll try cvs or maybe Ralph’s. The lounges sound better then sugar free candy.
Allergy doc once said allergy Rx is the only cause of dry mouth, but I don’t think he was correct.
ACT dry mouth lozenges are great. I always have some in my purse. There are also sprays. I rinse my mouth with Biotene mouth wash before leaving home. Biotene also puts out a toothpaste, I believe. I always have water in the car with me. Good luck!
Elmay, does your thermal mug have a lid?
I used to keep water on the nightstand, it always fell over when it touched it, when the alarm clock rang. I was using sugar free candy, but will try the lounges. Do you find more dry mouth with either the heater or air conditioner running all night?
Lioness, can you think of anyother place besides Walgreens? I’ll try maybe Target. My neighbor called Ralph’s and Vons just now, and no luck.
She has constant dry mouth from all the meds she must take.
How can such a minor thing, be so annoying?
Yes. I used to have the same problem with spilling my water glass during the night. This past Mother’s Day, my grandson fixed my problem. He worked at the Duluth Trading Company as a part time job. He bought me one of their metal, covered, insulated mugs. It is wonderful. Some of the ice is still there in the morning. I’m sure they sell it online. It is blue and has the company logo on the front. It has a clear plastic lid with a dipping hole. I hope you can find one. El
