@crhynna- Welcome to Mayo Clinic Connect. This must be very scary. I'm wondering if the blood might be from your rectum and not your vagina. Usually when your uterus is removed your cervix is too so where your uterus used to be is sewed up. Are you having stomach cramps or any pain at all? How long has this been going on? Have you contacted your doctor?

@crhynna- Good afternoon. Just checking to see if you have found a solution to your bleeding?

I had a complete hysterectomy (cervix, ovaries, and all) in 2004. Two years ago I had bleeding, just like a period. Had sonogram, went to gyno, nothing. A year later, it happened again. Same thing. Then it happened almost once a month. I had to wear a pad. I NEVER felt like it came from my rectum. I have had CT scans on my bladder, pelvis, MRI's sonograms, vaginal sonogram. I have been to urologist, gynecologist, nephrologist (CKD stage 3b) CT scan showed complex cyst, the urologist said no it wasn't, nephrologist is "watching it". I have prolapse hemorrhoids, have had them banded 3 times, had a colonoscopy and banded again. Colo-rectal said the bleeding is from the hemorrhoids. The last couple of days after the prep I have had heavy bleeding hugh clots but it did not come from my rectum. It slowed today, and then tonight It started again. I carefully wiped my rectum from the back .... no blood. I wiped from the front heavy dark, but bright red blood and clots. I could be between the vulva and rectum, and maybe the hemorrhoids is causing it somehow. But it is NOT coming from my rectum. Am I crazy to be so adamant about it?

Side note ... I had the roux-en-y in 2018. Not sure that can have anything to do with it, because it isn't coming from up high since it is not dark brownish.

Have you taken a hand mirror and looked to see if can tell exactly where blood is coming from? Do you have an external hemorrhoid that is bleeding?
I am not medical expert, but roux-en-y in 2018 would not cause red blood in lower GI.

Is your provider giving you any advice on what is bleeding and how to treat?

I do not have an external hemorrhoid. They are internal and prolapse. Everyone assumes it is from the GI tract, but I can feel it when I bleed, and it does not feel like it is flowing from the rectum area.

I have not thought about the mirror; thank you for the suggestion. I will have to get one. No one has given me any solutions or instructions except to go to the emergency room if I get dizzy or feel faint. I've gone to the emergency room before when I was bleeding heavily. All they did was a quick exam tell me I have blood in my urine, do a cursory pelvic exam and tell me it isn't coming from my vagina do a blood count and determine I don't need a blood transfusion and send me on my way.

If I were bleeding enough to feel it flowing, wouldn't you think I could feel it coming from my rectum? I can tell when I have bowel leakage that it is coming from my rectum.
