Cold laser therapy device that I bought on Amazon for $129. instead of going to a Chiropractor for the cold laser therapy. I put it in a slipper, light side up and rest my foot on the light for 20 minutes. Another spot that seems to help is my tail bone for 20 minutes. It is worth a shot, and if it doesn't help send it back to Amazon. BTW. veterinarians use them on animals with arthritis is the hips and joints, so they are gentle enough. Do some research on google and you will see what it is all about. You tube has so videos also.
@beth11 Hi, I have severe foot neuropathy with many abnormal sensations, such as toes feeling like they are being pulled out of their sockets, toes feeling all over lapped, stretched way too wide....I could go on and on. Unfortunately, the only things that have helped with the pain and sensations are medical marijuana and Kratom. I am now going to do a trial of a Dorsal Root Ganglion Stimulator. Enough is enough. I am emotionally and physically exhausted from pain. Lori Renee
I'm sorry that you've not had relief. I had pt yesterday to see if it may help with the spasticity in my feet. The sensations that I have in my legs aren't necessarily painful, but it's not comfortable either. It's similar to the body part "falling asleep" sensation. It's constant and maddening to a certain extent. A recent emg was negative. I'm willing to try anything (within reason) to relieve my symptoms.
Interesting...pt yesterday used low light laser on my lower legs/ ankles. I'll let you know if it helps!
Thanks John. I've read a bit about neuropathy. My recent emg was negative so it's difficult to treat my symptoms when they can't isolate a cause. I'm trying different avenues of treatment as well as possible causes.
@beth11, EMG’s cannot detect small fiber neuropathy, (which is a possibility) that has to be done by a skin biopsy (punch test). That is what my experience has been, I was originally diagnosed with “arthritis” by a neurologist after receiving a negative EMG result.
What are the symptoms of small fiber neuropathy? Is it usually localized?
no, you can experience it in different parts of your body. I have it mostly in my feet and hands, in my legs and arms very infrequently.
@beth11 Thanks for your empathy! It's rough going. I also go to PT for my feet. It does not help with pain at all, but has made my feet stronger. I had a constant urge to just get off my feet because they felt so weak, but that has lessoned. Continuing to walk is imperative, so building strength is good. This neuropathy is the pits. Lori R
