Recent Member Responses Discovered in Spam Folder.

Posted by fiesty76 @fiesty76, Nov 10, 2019

Thanks to each of you for your recent responses to a couple of my last posts! No idea why they turned up there but moving them back to active mail allowed me to read them. Also was required to change my password before regaining access. Hadn't checked spam for several days and no idea what triggered the change but what makes this weirder is that during that time I did receive some Mayo Connect posts. Gremlin lurking in the ether?

@fiesty76 your post made me check my spam and sure enough there were some random Connect messages there! I have no idea why this happens.

Hi @fiesty76,

Have you tried setting a filter on your email program to move the Connect emails into a separate folder and not in your inbox? There's a discussion on how to do it here: https://connect.mayoclinic.org/discussion/tip-filter-your-connect-emails-into-a-folder-1/

Several members have reported this issue lately, and it seems email programs are tightening their spam filters. To prevent Connect-related emails from going to your junk mail or spam, add Connect's sender address "@n1.hubapplication.com" to your safe sender list. Here are instructions on how to do this for various email types:
– AOL http://www.subscribermail.com/safe-list/address-book-aol-mail.html
– Gmail, Outlook (hotmail) and Yahoo http://onlinegroups.net/blog/2014/02/25/how-to-whitelist-an-email-address/
Additionally, when you find a Connect email in your spam folder, move it back to the inbox and mark "Not Spam." Eventually your email will get it.

@feisty76 I haven't had this happen. But everyday i check my spam folder for emails, and trash them accordingly. Thinking it is part of my OCD to have things organized, I don't let my spam folder build up!

Kanaaz, thank you for the links to prevent wanted mail from landing in spam folders. I'm pretty illiterate when it comes to cyber anything but will check out these sites. I appreciate your response and also for your work as moderator for this great forum.

Thanks for the gentle nudge, Ginger. If I were only as good at "staying on top of things" as I am at procrastinating about some things, my life would run more smoothly. Smiles!
