Hello @trellg132. I'd like to invite @jim1208, @luckonetj, @johnwhitfield who have recently discussed their sobriety as well. If you are comfortable sharing a bit more, and only if you are comfortable, would you mind sharing with the other members what you are sober from?

I drank a six pack a day with 4 years of soberity within 11years. 1 1/2 years sober presently. I consider my past a journey that brought me to this life I now enjoy.

Well done! The last 6 months of my 24 year daily drinking were spent drinking a half gallon of whiskey daily. Darkest time of my life!

I slipped off to other drugs but pulled up out of that

I work a 12 step program. I will share a little on my personal experiences. !2 step program is about getting sober, staying sober and self-improvement. All 3 are important to me. Personal growth and spiritual growth has always been part of my journey. One of my favorite sayings is " being smart is knowing half of what you are dumb at" 12step programs is an opportunity for me to stay sober with personal and spiritual growth. I have problems like everybody else! I am content and grateful most days! So, for me getting sober is so much more than just not drinking!

Agreed! The thought of drinking has been removed. The emotional sobriety is been a challenge for me. Thanks for posting.
