Water at freshwater lake

Posted by kathyhg @kathyhg, Jul 27, 2019

Are there any issues swimming in a freshwater lake? It’s clear; doesn’t allow power boats so the water is quite clean. I wonder if it would be wise just to avoid getting my head in the water and risk taking in water?
Thanks,

Thanks for asking, Sounder. I just posted an update on the original post "Arikayce - nervous to start". I hope that posting there will bring it up to the front.

Gaylewroc. I started Arikayce last Wednesday. My voice is now starting to sound like I have laryngitis. The actual usage takes a day or two get used to, but the nurse was great. Her name was Denise. If you have the same nurse tell her Candy said “hi”. Keep us posted as to how you do with the medication. I’ll be posting my progress as well. Best to you.

@sounder27 I'm glad you're doing so well..it gives me courage! It might be Denise...sounds familiar. My Doc also started me on a trial drug called Clofazimine a few weeks ago..I was nervous and I seem to be tolerating that well. I'm just going to stay positive!! I was wondering if Manuka honey would help with the throat issues..just a spoonful after treatment? Hang in there and keep us posted.

We are going to Puerto Rico this year. Snorkling has always been a family outing.

@tinaesims The trip to Puerto Rico sounds like fun. You are on good antibiotics, so you should be just fine. I used to love to snorkel in the Caribbean, but I no longer can due to low lung function. I do not have enough lung power to draw the oxygen down the snorkel tube. They now make personal sized flat rafts with a viewing window at the head, I will have to use that, or hang my face with a snorkel mask over the edge of a floatation device. Well have fun girl! When do you leave to go there?

We leave Christmas Eve and get home New Years Eve.

I also just started on that program and lost my voice after one week of the medication. My Infectious Disease specialist at Cedars told me to stop for a bit and get my voice back. I did and it came back but now I've started all over again and yes - it appears that I'm back to losing my voice again. They tell me that this will pass in time but for now it's killing my business. Hope it at least "kills the MAC"!
