Teen daughter- Dizzy faints tired falls downs

Posted by julimleeds @julimleeds, May 10, 2019

My 14 year old daughter has been pretty much bed ridden for about 6 months now. In January she had a really bad cold and missed several days of school. Just when we thought she was better she got a headache that didn’t go away for several weeks. Once the head started to ease up she became very week, tired and extremely dizzy. There are days that she can barley make it to the bathroom. Our family doctor sent us to a Neurologist. We didn’t get any answers. We then went to a cardiologist still no answers. Meanwhile my daughter has been in counseling to see if there is something else going on.
My daughter is a very happy out going kiddo. She had a great group of friends and does well in school. She has missed out on so many activities in the last several months.
If any one can offer advice or knows any one who has been through this I could really use some help. Thank you

@julimleeds - was she evaluated by ENT? I’m thinking chronic sinusitis and/or inner ear disease. Did she have CT scan of head/ sinuses or MRI?
My son actually had a similar problem in 6th grade and missed almost a semester. ENT treated him for sinus pressure and inner ear problem- secondary to a viral infection. It slowly resolved, but was tough for him- and us parents to watch.

Yes we went to an ENT a couple weeks ago. I was thinking maybe an inner ear issue but nothing.

This was some years ago, but the main treatment was hypertonic saline nasal rinses- helped decongest nasal/ sinus passages. Also, wait it out.
He was seen by a Pediatric ENT.
Don’t give up. You can always get 2nd opinions.
