What can stunt or help height growth in teens?
I am 15 and still growing but my question is can frequent masturbation stunt height growth or affect my hormones?

Hi @nbv1515 and welcome to Connect.
I wanted to share this link in order to answer your question: https://kidshealth.org/en/teens/expert-masturbation.html
In short, no, frequent masturbation will not stunt your height growth. Have you spoken to your doctor about this concern?
No I have not. I’m too scared to ask my doctor, it’s kinda embarrassing.
Pretty much the title. I’m worried if masturbating too much can effect my height. I’ve you loose minerals and hormone levels drop after masturbation which can stunt your growth.
Hi @nbv1515 It appears that you are concerned about what you can do to reach your maximum height. Here are some articles that may help answer your questions.

- Feeling Too Tall or Too Short https://kidshealth.org/en/kids/my-height.html
Do you feel like you are shorter than your friends? Have you talked to your parents about how you feel? you said in a past post that you were scared to ask your doctor about this topic, but have you brought up your height to your doctor?
Hey Ethan would you happen to know if facial hair growth on sideburns, chin and neck on a 15 year old means he will not grow in height anymore.
Hi @johnnyjones and welcome to Connect! Here is more information on puberty and height growth: https://www.medicalnewstoday.com/articles/320676#average-height-in-boys
In my case I had facial growth at 15 as well and didn't grow any more after that, but I had my major growth spurt in 8th grade so i was already done growing by that point. Everyone is different so it would be best to ask your doctor with these concerns.
Is this something you are experiencing? Have you mentioned it to your parents or your doctor?
The fact that most of my friends have had their major growth spurt in 8-9th grade and im today in 10 th grade and still haven’t passed 170 cm literally creeps me out. I know each body’s different, but i get worried cz nearly all my friends are now over 175 and im still 168 and we’re all in grade 10. I know there are short people out there but cmon 168 is not a normal height for a guy in grade 10. Im so worried i hope u’ll read this in the nearest time possible. Thank you!!
And for the record, my dad is 183 cm tall and my grandpa was tall as well so there’s no way i could grow short
@anonymousforcertainreasons2 - I understand that you get worried when you watch your friends grow past you. You mentioned that bodies are different and you are right. It sounds as if you have not hit your growth spurt yet. When your body enters puberty depends on your hormones and genetics. If you have a family doctor or pediatrician the doctor could easily see what stage of puberty you are in by examining you. I guess many of your friends may appear more like adult males than a teenage boy. They are probably done growing- and you have not started. In the end you will likely be taller than them.
Looking at your father and grandfather will give you an idea of where you will end up.
As you said, i think patience is really the main key. Thank you for the answer 😊
