Diastolic dysfunction and resulting a-fib

I am sorry. I didn't mean to correct you just want to make sure you knew it was more specific than testing diseases. That would be a whole different testing and a whole different set of guidelines and coverage by insurance.

Not good about your arrhythmia. But it is what it is. Fortunately, one of my early cardiologists suggested that beta blockers might not be good for my issues. Therefore, I have resisted them for years, along with CCBs and ACEs. Now the research seems to have caught up with this, according to the crews at Mayo-MI. You might catch some of their videos on cardiac, amyloidosis, etc. They are very, very good. Morie Gertz and Martha Grogan deal with this stuff often in videos and writings.

Does anyone have familiarity with diastolic dysfunction? I just had an echo done and it resulted in that as well thickened left ventricle and showing my mitral valve was moderately thickened. My family practitioner mentioned to get another echo in a year and see what it shows again. The report said that only my mitral valve could be shown on the echo which I thought was odd - what about my other valves? ?!!. Im wondering if I should go see a cardiologist.

I have diastolic dysfunction and I would suggest you see a cardiologist. Personally, I would recommend Mayo, if possible.

@scladybug Yes I would see a cardiologist there are so many more things about the heart the cardiologist can help you better then a g.p.

Hi everyone! I just received my results from my echo and it shows Abnormal left ventricular diastolic filling is observed, consistent with impaired LV relaxation... It also says The mitral valve leaflets are mildly thickened and there is mild mitral regurgitation observed - the jet appears to be eccentric. There is mild tricuspid regurgitation.. anyone have this or know what it all means?

My ekg shows 1 degree AV block with normal sinus rhythm. My echocardiogram reveals: abnormal left ventricular relaxation (grade 1 diastolic dysfunction. atrium is mildly dilated. Aortic valve is trileaflet and are mildly thickened. Aortic sclerosis. Tricuspid valve reveals trivial regurgitation and mild pulmonary hypertension. Is this of any concern and what can I do to make it better. I am 71 y/o and also have Type II diabetes with cirrhosis of the liver due to diabetes.
