@athnall7 Yes I have allot of mucus one time I woke up almost chocked by the mucus .I've been taking Mucinex it helps clear it up I take it when I need it. I have dry mouth and use Biotene ,dry mouth can produce bad breath also.My phlegm bothers me at night so this is when I take Mucinex.
Do you know causes so much phlegm at night!
Thank you for the info. Any idea what causes your phlegm at night?
@athnall7 No I don't but I do have allergies and sinus headaches .No don't know but Mucinex helps or look for the ingredient Guaifenesin thats what clears mucus
@athnall7 Do have acid reflux, heart burn, hiatal hernia? Stomach mucosa can go up into the esophagus and throat especially when lying down.
Thanks for the info I may need to look into that!
@fourof5zs Hi Long time ago I had same problem went to Dr she put me on Nexium for a year took care of it but even now I don't eat fried foods or spicey food
This type of reflux can be acid or the mucus... sensation of post nasal drip. You can find more by searching for silent reflux or laryngopharyngeal reflux (LPR). I had regular acid reflux for many years from a sliding hiatal hernia. Because of the surgeries I had I now have the silent reflux. I also have allergies and sometimes it is hard to figure out which is happening. The silent reflux can cause damage to the esophagus and throat. So yes, get it checked out. Small meals.. several of them a day, watching what I do eat and prilosec help.
Thank you sooo much for the info! I’m going to look into this!
@fourof5zs , did you have surgery to repair your sliding hernia? If so, how long ago and would you recommend that surgery?
