Autoimmune & temperature regulation: How do you get warm?
Does anyone have issues getting and staying warm? I am especially having this problem in large buildings with any AC. I often have to wear a hat and gloves indoors. I also have many blankets on my bed and still sleep in pants, sweatshirt, hat, and gloves. Maybe this is completely unrelated to autoimmune disease, just want to check with others.

I've got hypothyroidism and hoshimotos both and I'm on 88 mg of levothyroxzine. My Dr knows and when this first started I was at my natural weight of 115 lbs and now I've gained to 179 lbs and have the hot cold symptoms also. Please I need advice on what I can do about how to get my life back to normal. The hot and cold sweats are awful so I understand. If anyone got their lives back to how they were before you got the 2 dieases I have please help.
Has your doctor recommended an exercise program for you? If you have joint pain, aquatic exercise in a warm water therapy pool is a good option for you because the buoyancy of the water will decrease pain and you will be able to exercise to help decrease weight and improve mood through the release of natural endorphins. I struggle with weight gain from taking prednisone and anti-depressants. I have since changed my anti-depressant to one that does not cause weight gain. I have gained 10 pounds but I have to work hard exercising and watching what I eat. I think most of weight gain is muscle that i have regained.
I have so far two known autoimmune conditions, one Wich is psoriasis I've had pretty much my whole life.. I'm now 41 btw. The other ulcerative colitis I've had since I was about 19. Anyway, I've been having a ton of different issues the past couple of years and especially this last year or so and I'm curious if anyone else has these symptoms and what it means. My main problem is muscle and joint aches almost constantly and it's most severe in the mornings when I wake up, I'm extremely stiff in every part of my body, especially the lower part. Also my psoriasis have gotten way worse and spread to other areas of my body where I've never had them before. I'm almost constantly overheated, and it just comes on suddenly. I mean like ridiculously hot to the point that I feel as if im going to just pass out or something worse. Recently, about a week ago I developed this pain in the bottom of my left foot that only happens when I step down on it but it feels like I'm stepping on glass or shattered a bone or something and now it is starting to go up the back of my leg every time i take a step. And I guess about a month-and-a-half ago I was at work and as I was walking down the hallway I noticed myself going to the right it was as if I was tilting or something anyway I kind of fell toward the wall but caught myself. I have had a few episodes where I kind of feel off balance or clumsy like as if I was drunk or something. Oh and another thing that's really odd I often get this feeling the inside of my body is vibrating, it always starts at My feet and goes up my body really quickly when I'm walking and kinda comes randomly out of nowhere. The first time that happened was actually probably close to a year ago, it happened a couple of times then went away until recently. Now when it happens I feel a little bit "loopy"or dizzy at the time but only for a second or two. But I did notice when it happens now it'll happen two or three times as I'm walking as opposed to just once and then going away like it did when it first started a year ago. Ive had a lot of other symptoms throughout the years but too many to post right now, this whole autoimmune thing is something I've only learned about recently while searching for answers concerning my niece's and mother's symptoms/conditions. They also have been diagnosed with autoimmune conditions recently. Thanks everyone for reading, it's appreciated.

Hello @simmons78, welcome to Connect. It certainly sounds like you have a lot going on. The internal vibrations you describe sound similar to another discussion that you may want to read through and learn what others have shared.

What symptom that you have is the most bothersome?
While reading your words my heart sank. I was reading almost exactly my life. I too was 112 pounds or less all my life. I began having every symptom known to man, gained 55 pounds in 10 weeks. 10 weeks. How is that even possible? Sitting at 176 and it does not matter what type of diet or not... i know it is shocking, looking in the closet at your beautiful cloths and not being able to wear any of them. It is devastating to the ego. Not to mention dealing with so many symptoms that drs just pass you from one to another. I just wanted you to know- You Are Not Alone! Keep your faith, whatever it may be.
