Losartan recall

Posted by Lisa @techi, Nov 30, 2018

Today a second recall on a high blood pressure med my doctor has prescribed in a year. What does that tell you about our healthcare. And a med l was taken off at the mayo clinic because l shouldn't be taken. It would help me. And my cardiologist is trouble, my pcp has retired recently and his replacement doctor doesn't want to touch my case because he knows they messed me up. And l am the one with anxiety and depression. No l am hot. And as soon as l got off of valsartan and was put on losartan l thought something was going to go wrong. Patients dont need meds we need Jesus. All these drugs are killing us and our medical system is getting rich at our expense. And when we stand up the want us to stay quiet. And the mayo clinic ruled out Angina and cardiomegley a year ago. And when l was admitted this year for bradycardia this year it was still on my chart. And the cardiologist that put it on in the first place just got out of jail. I love my state healthcare.

Lisa,

The recall is for the product made by Sandoz.

I'm very happy that you posted the info about the recall. It made me go look at my bottles of Losartin. The pharmacy made an error. no I will go back and see them tomorrow. They gave me a bottle of 50Mg and one of 25Mg. It was supposed to be 2 bottles of 25 Mg. I guess errors occur.

Thanks for your post. I did find the information about the recall and I sure don't want to take the one by Sandoz. It has a carcinogen included in the contents used to manufacture the med in the town company and it is manufactured in China.

Hi,
Here’s some information from the FDA about the Losartan recall:

Sandoz Inc. Issues Voluntary Nationwide Recall of One Lot of Losartan Potassium and Hydrochlorothiazide Due to the Detection of Trace Amounts of NDEA (N-Nitrosodiethylamine) Impurity Found in the Active Pharmaceutical Ingredient (API): https://www.fda.gov/Safety/Recalls/ucm625492.htm

This drug is used alone
Losartan (Cozaar) https://www.mayoclinic.org/drugs-supplements/losartan-oral-route/description/drg-20067341
Or together with other medicines to treat high blood pressure
Losartan and hydrochlorothiazide (Hyzaar) https://www.mayoclinic.org/drugs-supplements/losartan-and-hydrochlorothiazide-oral-route/description/drg-20062877

I’d also like to emphasize that the FDA article states: “Patients who are currently taking this medication are advised to speak with their doctor before stopping use, because the risk of going off of the medication might be greater than other possible risk. Patients who are on Losartan Potassium Hydrochlorothiazide should continue taking their medication, as the risk of harm to a patient’s health may be higher if the treatment is stopped immediately without any alternative treatment.”

I am sorry l didn't reply. My life is a little crazy but l am glad you found out which one. I am getting off mines for good. I have someone who is a naturalist and she told me l don't take meds and she hates doctors. She said they almost killed her three years ago. And she had doctors in her family her daughter is going to be a doctor but she said shes not giving drugs. And l know right now our world is full of hate. All our countries are angry that l don't trust any medicines right now. So this is me and l think it's going to be a blessing because there was no proof that it was helping me anyway . A you start taking one med and then theres a recall and you take another one and then something else happens. So l am just going to go back to the old remedies it works and you didn't need prescriptions or did l have side effects. We are killing ourselves and we will have to go back to growing our own foods and cooking ourselves. They can take away healthcare funding it's only killing us anyway. And the government and companies are getting rich. I really think it will be a blessing because we will turn to God and he cannot fail you.

Hi Lisa @techi,

Mayo Clinic advises that people consult with their current care provider before making any changes to their existing medication or treatment plan.
When considering complementary or alternative treatments, be open-minded yet skeptical. Learn about the potential benefits and risks.
Herbal supplements can have strong effects in the body. Some can interact with prescription medications used to treat heart and circulatory problems, such as high blood pressure and heart failure. Some of these interactions can even be dangerous.

I sincerely encourage you and others in this conversation to view this important Mayo Clinic article about
