Gratitude Discussion Group
Hi everyone! Just before Thanksgiving @michellegraffradford posted a blog called Gratitude Changes Everything. She suggested three techniques to help incorporate gratitude into our daily lives:
- Start the Day with Gratitude (before getting up think of three people you are grateful for)
- Maintain a Gratitude Journal to record times when you are grateful
- Count Blessings – not sheep! (Review the day and remember moments of gratitude)
Her blogpost was so inspiring that a lot of us decided we wanted to form a Gratitude Group to keep the attitude of gratitude going. The blogpost area is not an ideal space for a big discussion group so I am moving the discussion over here to the “Just Want to Talk” Group. Let’s use this space to share and discuss our Gratitude Journey. I’m going to suggest that we each try to take a minute from the day and post here what has made us feel thankful today. It can be as small as a stranger’s smile on the bus or as large as fulfilling a major life dream – or anywhere in between. We can also discuss how we are doing with the three techniques. Sometimes it is easier to form new habits with support from others.
Michelle's full blogpost is at the link below. You may want to review it or print it out to help get started!

I look forward to hearing from others in the Gratitude Group and to having others join us here! Thanks to those who already shared great stories. If you haven't yet, what gratitude will you share today?!

@debbraw Hi Debbra, thanks for the kind words!.....Karen
@lioness Doubtful as one always need to watch out for the bull...tee-hee. 😉
@debbraw So true as there are times we do. Happy you are doing better and able to get back to a more normal life. I had been mentioning the breathing thing for a couple of years or more. Wasn’t until my oxygen level
was low and I kept mentioning extreme fatigue that someone heard me. We are the ones that know our bodies and when something is different. Don’t you go overdoing.
@karen00 Grateful for being able to check in with others. How are you doing today?
My gratitude for today is I now can rest. Breathing treatment was a breeze. PT left me hurting. Angry muscles for now. I hear my bed calling me. Been busier than a cat in a sandbox.
@parus Glad your treatment went well Rest those angry muscles That's what I'm doing to darn P.T
@parus, lol. I'm hoping that what you have been scratching isn't as unsanitary.
When do you get results?
I hope your busy day was good!
@parus Except for the “angry muscles”, it sounds like a good day. I love your analogy. I’ve been an early to bed person myself recently, but I don’t have a good excuse.
JK
@parus Those angry muscles may be ouchy tomorrow. Be gentle on yourself. You made me laugh referring to cat in a sandbox. Our new little one likes to watch me clean the sandbox, then climb in and roll around, playing and scratching around! What a little nutjob she is! At least she waits until I clean it, right?
Today I am grateful for itty bitty kitty kisses in the middle of the night, and knowing that my nine hr volunteer shift at the police dept really was a big help to them.

@contentandwell I have always been an early to bed early to rise person. Uncle Benny said, "Early to bed, early to rise made a man healthy, wealthy and wise". Mayhap this only applies to men. Still have very angry muscles. Stuff happens.
