Complications/symptoms after Gallbladder Surgery

Hello. I am a Male 32. I had my gall bladder removed 4 days ago. Since I have had strange pains and feelings. Nausea after I eat Everytime. I realized after it's removal my stomach will have swelling, but it feels like there is a Large Knot just right of my Belly button. I also have had severe Hunger type pains. It's the only thing that I can compare it too. Very bad and painful pains that resemble Severe Hunger pains. I have also had headaches since the surgery. Mainly the right back of my head, it feels like there is a Knot under my skull almost. It doesn't hurt severely, but it does hurt sometimes worse than others. And nothing seems to help. Almost a throbbing pain. And of course pain across my entire abdomen. Top to bottom. Side to side. Which is to be expected I guess. But I have have more pain in my right chest and under my left breast off and on. What of these are to be expected and not?

Thank you very much for response.

As far as I read about strangulating hernia it could be recognised by MRI, ultrasonography..etc. We took many times MRI, ultrasonography for whole abdome, but no doctor mentioned about any hernia in abdomen.Is it possible for different Doctors couldnt see these type hernia? Is there any other method to recognise strangulating hernia?

What I can add also my mother has intensive gas in abdomen during this aches.How does it sound to you?

How I wish I had answers for you. So many conditions have the same symptoms.

Do you have copies of the test result? It helps to have copies. You can come up with questions. Sometimes the doctors miss discussing things with their patients. Have you gotten second or third opinions?

You said more than the gallbladder surgery... what other surgeries did your mother have? I am just trying to understand a bit more of what is going on.

Yes, we have copes of all results and got many times different opinions from different doctors.But results changed nothing.

After Gallbladder operation she had operation from uterus and one more operation from abdomen just to check if any bad thing there is.Last operation from spinal cord for hernia.

We are still looking for remedy and hope to find..

I only had Ct scans on my abdomen, and had swallow test with the fluoroscope. I do not know if in your mother's situation that a CT scan would give a better picture... but more than likely she has had at least one. Seems like she has run the gamut.

I wish I had answers for you. Only thing I can say is be persistent. Changes doctors if necessary, maybe try a teaching hospital if available near you. New eyes can sometimes see something different.

Keep a journal of symptoms and present to doctors. It can be helpful.

I also have had my gallbladder removed with many complications after that, so I can sympathize with pain after the surgery.
Are you having any other symptoms besides the sore belly button? When you say engaged, does that just mean when you move or just when you are engaging in certain movements?

@rayme1964 - I also had mine removed the laparoscopic way. It is very good there is no redness or other signs of infection. Everyone is different, depending on what nerves are irritated. It also irritates the rectus muscle - the left and right part meet above and below belly button. It definitely could bother you doing anything involving the abdominal muscles. Did they give you any post-op information explaining what you might experience?
If it does not let up you should call the surgeon.

Hello, I am post op 6 months (surgery Oct 18’) and I suffer from chronic nausea. It’s so bad at one point it made me throw up. I went to my dr and he told me to do a round (2weeks) of Prilosec. Sorry to say this didn’t work. I have hunger pains and am hungry however my nausea is so bad I can’t even eat. I literally have to force feed myself. Has anyone ever tried eating while wanting to throw up? It’s not fun at all. I don’t feel like my Dr. is listening to me but know I’ve had this surgery. What can I do to stress to my Dr about the seriousness of my issues? I’ve had tests done too and everything comes out fine! My Dr did mention doing a bacterial test, is this even worth doing? I’m at a loss and at wits end with my nausea. Any words or advice would be extremely helpful. Thank you so much!!

I keep reading about all this nausea people are suffering after gallbladder removal. Both my sister and I had our gallbladders removed and were suffering with horrible bouts of nausea. One day her Oncologist suggested taking a Magnesium supplement and we haven't experienced nausea since. I have gained all the weight back that I lost and I am feeling great. I take a 100 mg rapid release in the morning and a 400 mg caplet at night.

I just joined this site looking for answers and hopefully some help. I too had my gallbladder removed, (1-month ago), and started getting headaches on top and on the top back of my head. The headaches began two weeks after surgery and have not gone away, ever! Constant dull to severe headache that medicine does not seem to help. I have been back to my surgeon who sent me for a CT-Scan with contrast to make sure that there was not a blood clot, and it came back normal. Then I went to my personal doctor and she sent me for an MRI with contrast, and it came back normal. Then I was sent to an ENT who scoped my sinus cavity and throat looking for an infection, and that came back normal. I am not seeing a neurologist and he is running tests, EEG, Sleep Apnea, etc. Still no relief from these nagging headaches and I feel tired, have trouble sleeping and feel shortness of breath at times. My stomach, and gallbladder pain in gone, and I have no problems eating. Any thoughts?
