I had my gallbladder removed 4 weeks ago, and my belly button is still very tender. There is no redness, and not hot to touch. Also muscle in that area feels sore when engaged. Anyone have this issue, is it normal, how long will it last?

Hi @rayme1964 and welcome to Mayo Clinic Connect. You will see that I have moved your discussion to an ongoing previous conversation about gallbladder removal and belly button pain. You can click VIEW AND REPLY on the email notification to respond and to see what other members have posted. We find that this benefits our new members by connecting them with people who are going through similar journeys. I also have had my gallbladder removed with many complications after that, so I can sympathize with pain after the surgery.
Are you having any other symptoms besides the sore belly button? When you say engaged, does that just mean when you move or just when you are engaging in certain movements?
