@gardeningjunkie ...I posted pics on page 3...do you see them? This forum does not post from recent and so on...I hate that. So you have search all the pages. But, yes...I posted pics of only 2 of many areas. Hopefully someone knowledgeable will surface. Thank you for suggesting this.

@dazlin - A story that might surprise you. I have a neighbor that had a rash and no one could figure out what was causing it.
She had a hip replacement a few years before the rash showed up. It turned out that she had cobalt poisoning from the cobalt in the joint of the hip replacement. Maybe they need to be checking you for metal poisoning or at least going down a different road.

It looks similar to an eczema rash I get, so check out al eczema sites online that have photos that look your your style rash. Search for eczema rash photos. Eczema has a dozen different forms.
My torso rash, a form of eczema less common and has specific commonalities and is called Grover's Disease or Transient Acantholytic. Dermatosis, TAD. It is specific to the torso area front which includes the abdomen and back torso and normally doesn't leave the trunk area, but for some can progress down arms or up neck. Most with it have a form of leukemia, lymphoma or other autoimmune disease, another form of eczema, have had a recent hospital stay of about a week which required bed rest afterwards, have abused their skin spending too much time in the sun, are mature adults and I had all these criteria. The only one I didn't meet was that more men have it than women. My first outbreak lasted 1 year which is normal, but have had 2 subsequent recurrences which lasted 6 months each and each time the outbreak is less severe. It is not triggered by contact allergies, but by heat, sweat and friction.
Something is causing your rash, my 4 forms of eczema have overlapping symptoms (rash) and all manifest if unique ways also. I sure would explore the eczema possibility.

Just about the time when I think it is under control. It breaks out again. I hate it. They say NOT to take hot showers and use Dove soap. I have yet to give into the cold showers. Sorry. I guess I will die with this. The doctor keeps filling my script.

Have you searched the internet for possible parasite infestation? After months of searching, I finally found what I think is my problem (Margellons Disease), after searching for over a year. I read where the Mayo Clinic has been researching it.

Have you had time to research Grover's Disease or Transient Acantholytic Dermatosis, a torso specific rash (rare cases migrating to arms and legs). Few derms can recognize as it is less common and incorrectly treat it as Contact or Allergic Contact Dermatitis. My first outbreak lasted 1 year, this is normal, subsequent ones not as long lasting. I also had a biopsy done for it, but success of biopsy is based on a short window, must be in the active break out stage, mine had been broken out for 5 months already and was negative. Derm and I still have no doubt it is GD/TAD as I have all the other criteria in my history, exception being that more males get this than women.

@tinkerbell - thank you for the post re:cobalt poisoning after hip replacement. My husband had hip replaced in May, and since that time has suffered terribly with itch and eczematous rash! We knew he was allergic to nickel and he was assured there was no nickel in any component, but maybe there is something else we have yet to learn about.

@barbarn - My friend had surgery to replace the joint and after a few weeks the rash disappeared. She had testing for a number of metals and it turned out to be cobalt. She had to have both hips redone.
