All about Prozac
I just came across this website and the information about Prozac. I thought some of you may be interested in this information, so I thought I should pass it on. The site is Very Well Health (www.verywell.com) and they have lots of great information for you to read.

I have not experienced any nausea.
Here is Mayo Clinic information on fluoxetine (Prozac) https://www.mayoclinic.org/drugs-supplements/fluoxetine-oral-route/description/drg-20063952
Have you been nauseous, @annedodrill44?
I have been on Prozac for over 20 years and I am afraid to come off of it. I took for the first time for about 5 years came off it just fine but then had a bad episode of depression went back on and then had my dosage increased to 40mg about 5 years in. I have thought about not taking it anymore but am scared to try. Does anyone on here have any suggestions? The reason I would like to try to come off is because I am getting older and feel like my depression episodes would not be what they were when I was younger and raising my children by myself (my life has settled down considerably) and would just like to not have to take medication daily.
Try and see what happens. Always under your doctors supervision. My doc said this is one of the easier ones to taper.
I hear you! Im looking to find out myself...ive been on for 20 years as well. If you do come off they say to taper slowly. Good luck and let us know how you feel! 😁
I've gone down from 40 to 20 mg since December, and with a couple little bumps of anxiety, it's gone quite smoothly.
Big congratulations 🎉
Stay the course.. good job!
catcatanzaro60 I have great news! I finally got my disability and take a higher dose of Prozac. I haven't felt suicidal since June 2019. It has been wonderful. I still feel so tired all the time. But it could be that I have COPD. Now I have to take inhalers and such. It makes you tired too. I am sad about that and working to do better. It will be four years in Nov. no smokes. I haven't had Pneumonia in four years either! I have excepted the new me! You guys kept me from the worst. I will never forget this group.
Hi, @catcatanzaro60 - good to hear you got the disability status you'd wanted. Also, sounds like your mood and perspective on the world has changed quite a lot in the last 8 months or so, for the better.
Glad to hear the group here has also been helpful to you in your journey.

What kind of pneumonia have you had, @catcatanzaro60? Do you have a definite diagnosis with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD)?
@catcatanzaro60 It's good to hear that Prozac has been helping you. Are thoughts of suicide still in the past? I trust that they are. I still think about it, but I don't dwell on the thoughts, and they aren't intrusive anymore. It's been several years now since I acted on the thoughts, thanks to my wife, numerous doctors, numerous therapists, a caring pastor, my faith and my service dog. And, like you, a lot of thanks goes to my Mayo Connect family.
