I just came across this website and the information about Prozac. I thought some of you may be interested in this information, so I thought I should pass it on. The site is Very Well Health (www.verywell.com) and they have lots of great information for you to read.

@parus thanks I am so worried about losing everything in the meantime but I have regained my faith, and other times I just want to sign myself into the hospital. This crap is getting on my nerves. I slept the whole day Tuesday. It was gone. I have been writing the paperwork for my disability a little every night. I am not going fast enough. I am thinking about getting a lawyer. Thanks for caring though.
I hope this is a good thing. I am about ready to go off Cymbalta all the way. I am looking my another counseling place to go to again.

Hi Parus It has been one year since I last spoke but I can tell you my life has gotten better since my Prozac was increased to 80 mgs a day. I haven't wanted to die since I got this dose increased. It is a wonderful feeling to wake up and not want to die. I got plenty of sun took vitamin D and read my bible verses every day and walked the dog too. My boyfriend has been taking care of me financially. However I have still Chronic Pain with neck lower back and knees too. My Chropractor just told me a have a blood clot in my neck. It has me freaked out. My doctors had them xrays since July and never told me that. Happy Thanksgiving to everyone! I would have never made it without this site. God Bless you ALL Atheist or not Ha ha I am Thankful!

Cat your thoughts about this site can go a 1000 fold the # of people it has saved. Not real complicated! Very simple in my opinon it's called being able to talk and listen to others. We could all learn from this in our everyday life. Glad you are doing better!

A fun and interesting read of the day is a Connect member spotlight on one of the members of this discussion on fluoxetine (Prozac), @johnhans https://connect.mayoclinic.org/page/about-connect/newsfeed-post/encouraging-others-by-letting-them-know-ive-made-it-meet-johnhans/. Hope you enjoy the reading and getting to know him a bit more. Please share it on your social media accounts, if you'd like.

I’m currently only on 10 mg of Prozac daily. Hope to be bumped up this week in the hope of feeling better. And I just switched over from Lexapro so probably have months to tough it out before the new med kicks in 🙁

Okay everybody ... I’ve been on Prozac for 1 month: first week took 10 mg, piped to 20 mg for past 3 weeks. Not feeling much better. How long does this med take to work?

REPLY

I have been on Prozac for 8 weeks. I just now started really itching, especially on my back. Is this common? I’ve taken another antidepressant and never had this happen.

Hi @sears I moved you post to this existing discussion on Prozac that you had taken part in before. Simply click VIEW & REPLY in your email notification to get to your post.

That itching seems very aggravating.

@annedodrill44 @johnhans and @catcatanzaro60 may be able to share if this is something that has happened to them.

Back to you @sears, have you been able to ask your doctor about this?

REPLY

I have a appointment this week and will address the issue. Didn’t know if my problem was worth a phone call.

Hi, @sears - if you have a bothersome side effect, it can never hurt to place a phone call or send a portal message to your doctor. They can utilize this information for your records and for their own knowledge for future patients in a similar situation, and they just may have a remedy for the side effect you are dealing with.

How are you feeling this morning?

@sears, I don’t have any Prozac side effects. But I’ve been on 20 mg for 5 weeks and don’t feel the calm I was hoping for. Maybe I need more time on this med? Input anyone?
