Wanted: Organ Transplant Recipients Who Have Been Hit By a Car

Posted by Rosemary, Volunteer Mentor @rosemarya, Feb 26, 2018

"Are there any transplant recipients of any organ who have been hit by a car? How did you recover? What helped you to recover from the multiple injuries?
I am posting this discussion question on behalf of one of our members,
@glinda who has recently been hit by a car and asked me to do it for her. Due to multiple injuries, she may not be able to respond right now and can read your messages.
Your support and encouragement will be appreciated as she recovers.

@glinda Yes, now the hard work begins. Here is a little something to help your eyes feel happy. Things like you are experiencing only happen in the movies-unfortunately, they do occur in real life. Too early here for flowers other than some painting I have done from last summer's flower garden. Will keep you close in thought.

@glinda, Today we actually woke up to snow. My daffodils are trying to hold on. I fear that our nextt few days of normal weather will take a real toll on them.
How are you getting along? I hope that your pain is controllable. I also hope that you are able to find some sort of enjoyable way to pass some of your time between therapy sessions, if there is such a thing.

Did you see the flower painting that @parus sent to you? I think that summer sounds/looks pretty good right now.

Get lots of rest. And know that we are rooting for you from many locations.

@parus another very cool painting! You sure are talented.

@rosemarya We too woke up to new snow. My husband measured and it was 13", and of course had already compacted some. Thankfully it seems to be over now so it should not effect the day much. It does look pretty but at this point I am more than ready for some warmth. Picture is out my kitchen window. Enough!

@glinda take care and get as much rest as you can. You sound like you are keeping a great attitude. I think that's a large part of the battle.

Oh my! So glad we missed all that. We got rain and a couple inches of snow when the front went through the Midwest earlier this week. Our kids in SD and MAN got several inches. Not to mention that SAD was essentially closed for a couple days!

Hello @contentandwell

I've been hearing about the storms in your part of the world, what a view! I'm really sorry to see it all - I hope that it melts quickly.

That looks like a picture of your porch, it must be a beautiful place to sit in the spring, summer and fall. The view of the woods is lovely as well (minus the snow)!

@hopeful33250 It should melt quickly but of course in the meantime we always have to have our driveway plowed. This time he came three times - $$$$.
Yes, that is my porch. The summer before my transplant I practically lived out there, resting on a chaise and having most of my meals there. The woods are nice, lots of animals around, we see mainly deer.
