Does CBD oil help you with your depression and/or anxiety?
I am curious to know if anyone has had success with CBD or Hemp oil helping with depression/anxiety? I’ve been reading a lot about it and am curious.
I've been reading about this and am very interested but would like thoughts/opinions from anyone who has actually tried it or knows someone who has. TIA
Thank you,
Laura

@tolepma- Welcome to Mayo Connect. I'm glad that you found us. Would you mind telling me more about your history so I can see if I can help your better? Why are you having sleeping problems? How much CBD oil are you taking? Perhaps you could cut the dose if you want to try that. Of course, if it isn't working just don't use it.
I took CBD oil for anxiety and it didn't do anything for my anxiety, but everybody's different. I feel there is no harm in trying it. Good luck to you!
Tried melatonin when I was in my 40's, and now again in my 60's. For me, melatonin creates insomnia!

Hi Gail, I recently started on citalopram for anxiety and it seems to be helping. How long before it becomes 100 percent effective. I was having difficulty with sleep before starting citalopram, waking up several times throughout the night going to the bathroom. I started on 10 mg and just went to 20 mg 2-3 weeks ago. What dose are you on and does it help with sleep? Thank you
thanks gingerw how ru

@sirgalahad Thank you for asking. I am grateful for each day to be here. Some days are a real struggle physically and mentally, other days they seem to go easier. Right now I am doing a lot to keep busy and have to back off on some of my commitments. When I look at the calendar and see so much going on I know I may be trying to run away from something and not focus on things that need attention. It's like I've set myself up for failure in a way but nothing tremendous. I'm glad to have that insight to look at it but it is just it disappoints me, too. Seems I haven't learned all my lessons yet. You're right about essential oils - the sense of smell is so powerful.
