Has anyone been diagnosed with Abdominal Wall Pain

They diagnosed me with ACNES. It's a nerve entrapment. It's been a long journey. 6 plus years with pain. Did have trigger point injections in the area of my abdomen where the pain is. It's helped now for a month or so and am managing it with Tramadol and Gabapentin as well. Am going to ask about Pulsed Radio frequency neurotomy where they stun the nerve. It's just finding it with imaging that could be an issue. I was told there are many nerves in that area. It's the right upper quadrant. Am also using hypnotherapy and mindfulness for pain control. There are options out there if you can find a good pain doctor. Pain meds are just not the only answer. We need to be proactive. Best wishes for you. May God shine His light on the road ahead of you. The trigger point injections I've had used 80 mg of Repo Me from which lasted longer than the Kenalog.

I'll let you know. It may not work anyway because I have visceral pain as well and it could be related to my abdominal wall. The shot won't work for visceral pain.

The reason I hope you get a diagnosis is that, when you don't have one, physicians will treat you as if the pain isn't real either.

The pain is very real and they may not be able to do anything about the pain. Then I have to learn to live with the pain.My oldest son doesn't understand how bad the pain is and thinks I can live with severe pain through counseling and behavior therapy. I'll let you know after Thursday when I'm done.

@rbassett - I have experience living with constant pain. It drains your energy. Family and friends don’t really understand it. I went to counseling too- pain still there but you can talk to someone in a way you can’t talk to family.

Ingegerd Enscoe, Volunteer Mentor @astaingegerdm: ACNES is NOT a gastroenterologic problem and should not be classified under the Digestive Health group. Mayo Clinic should inform Dr. Oxentenko of this, or whomever posted her video. Those of us who suffer this neropathic pain deserve serious attention to this diagnosis. Mis-classifying it is not helpful.

I know how you feel. I live alone and feel helpless. I am mostly home bound and because the pain is neverending, I hardly get much sleep and the only relief I get from the pain is if I actually manage to sleep. The pain meds help some as well, but only to a point and from what I've been told is I have to learn to live with my pain.

I had the block done and no relief as of yet 2 hours later. I was hoping I would notice it by now.

RBassett, I was also really hoping for some pain relief on your behalf! Were you given a timetable for this? I've had 4 shots so far that provided noticeable pain relief right away, but the longest any of them lasted was about 4 hours..Thank you for being willing to post your reaction and I hope your treatment makes a difference over time? Just sending HOPE right now--that maybe medical science will start making headway on some cell therapy that will help us (preferably soon). /jpm
