New PARI Nebulizer Options Coming Our Way?

Posted by scoop @scoop, Oct 5 12:45pm

PARI has introduced some new nebulizer products that, for now, appear to be available only in Europe. The new portable PARI BOY Go appears to be available only in Germany at this point.

I’d love to see these products introduced in the USA sooner rather than later, although I realize there are regulatory and other hurdles that have to be cleared first.

It might be possible for someone traveling to Europe or Germany to purchase one or both of these devices, although I don’t know what issues there might be with bringing them back to the USA, power compatibility, warranties, replacement parts, etc.

PARI BOY Go:

eFlow rapid nebulizer system, smaller new controller:

If anyone has information or experience with either of these newer products, please post any details here.

Since bronchiectasis is a lifelong condition, it’s encouraging to see continued development of nebulizer technology. Anything that can make our daily treatment routines faster, easier, or more portable could make a meaningful difference in managing the disease over the long term.

If you're someone who likes/needs to nebulize every last drop of saline, I suspect the PARI BOY Go may not be for you. As @bkim408 mentioned, it does leave a small amount of residual saline in the mouthpiece. The eRapid also leaves some residual saline, but with a few gentle shakes of the handset toward the end, I can nebulize virtually all of it.

The PARI BOY Go is an excellent travel solution because of its compact size, speed, and the fact that there are only two parts to sterilize. It must be held upright to prevent leaking.

For me, nebulizing is a means to an end. Its purpose is to help mobilize mucus so I can move on to the essential part, airway clearance.

@scoop, when the Pari Goy Bo seems to be done, I tap gently on the lid and the rest of the solution gets nebulized, there is a couple drops left in the moouthpiece, which is totally fine with me. Again, I do not experience leaks, just a couple drops on my hand from the condensation, just like with my table compressor nebulizers. Pari Boy Go has been so far my very best nebulizer. I use it dailky at home and on the go.

Thanks for this information. I’m thinking I might have a defective one. It shuts off during the saline neb. I use 7% and have been fastidious with cleaning and sterilizing. It also drips considerably even with making sure the handset is very upright. What saline percentage are you using?

I just received my Pari Boy Go, but was a little surprised to see that there was only one mouthpiece, but 2 facemasks. I only like using the mouthpiece. For those of you who are using this, how do you sterilize the mouthpiece; is it possible to purchase several additional mouthpieces?

My Pari Boy Go just arrived. Do you have to clean it before use?

Thanks for sharing.

@bkim408
Thanks! It’s been a learning curve as I’m accustomed to the Pari eRapid, which costs about 8x as much, and was expecting similar performance. Not quite the same! I have to be careful about the angle I hold the nebulizer, or it drips. Sometimes I use two vials of 7% saline, which triggers the blue light indicating the unit needs cleaning. Given the difference in cost, I suspect the mesh head is not as robust as the one in the eRapid. Nonetheless, it’s a great addition to my travel equipment.

@scoop, I nebulized 7 ml of 7%this AM without any leaking, not even any drop falling on my hands. I hold the device somewhat straight. I can see there is a little bit of liquid in the mouthpiece, butfor some reason it is not falling out by the openings. The blue light was not triggered today. But it has twice since I got it, the maintenance is really easy to perform. I do believe you might have gotten a lemon. This has been working extremely well so far for me. I hope you get it replaced by Amazon.
