New PARI Nebulizer Options Coming Our Way?

Posted by scoop @scoop, Oct 5 12:45pm

PARI has introduced some new nebulizer products that, for now, appear to be available only in Europe. The new portable PARI BOY Go appears to be available only in Germany at this point.

I’d love to see these products introduced in the USA sooner rather than later, although I realize there are regulatory and other hurdles that have to be cleared first.

It might be possible for someone traveling to Europe or Germany to purchase one or both of these devices, although I don’t know what issues there might be with bringing them back to the USA, power compatibility, warranties, replacement parts, etc.

PARI BOY Go:

eFlow rapid nebulizer system, smaller new controller:

If anyone has information or experience with either of these newer products, please post any details here.

Since bronchiectasis is a lifelong condition, it’s encouraging to see continued development of nebulizer technology. Anything that can make our daily treatment routines faster, easier, or more portable could make a meaningful difference in managing the disease over the long term.

@lilianna
I have not tried it with the Aerobika. I prefer to use the Aerobika by itself.

@bkim408 have you ever been told where the worst of your BE is? I for one have been told that mine is both lower lobes, & posterior. So am wondering if this machine would be very useful to me. I currently use a pro neb at home which works fairly well at home. Although I think it is terrific that companies are coming up with new equipment for us, I think the location of the worst of each individuals BE plays a HUGE role in how effective the nebulizer & medication is. I hope and pray that everyone can find a nebulizer that works well for them. Better breathing for us all.

@spider109 .
Thank you for your advice. My CT lung shows my BE is mostly in both lower lobes & minimal involvement in other areas. Pari Boy Go loosens up sputum(liquidify) fairly well. I am planing on using Pari Boy Go for my DuoNeb treatment at home and I am going to take it with me when I travel for Duoneb & Hypertonic Saline.
Thanks again

@gigiv did you go from no mucus to mucus from deeper lungs. I have used everything available to me including a therapist cupping my lungs and still nothing moves. So I think may be this new Pari will be my miracle

@lilianna What is your daily exercise routine? Without vigorous movement, the mucus just stays in my lungs.

@sueinmn hi Sue. I exercise 10 minutes am after levalbuterol inhalation. I walk during the day pretty fast for two miles. I do 3lb weights while nebulizing( one hand then the other) I make 10000 or more steps a day so I really don’t sit. I have not done specific exercise routine, that’s true except chair yoga at the senior center. Honestly I am not able to vigorously exercise because I am short of breath. The NJH pulmonologist said that I would have to sweat to make exercising move the mucus plugs. So what is your vigorous movement? When I was in Denver in July and had a bronchoscopy, dr Fuentes removed many mucus plugs but of course they form all the time and I really didnt get any advise how to start them moving. I got a prescription for nacetylcysteine nebulization, 12 ml four times a day. Each NAC session takes over an hour plus I do saline twice a day- and even if I tried for two weeks NAC four times a day it did not change anything. Please share how you exercise. I would be grateful.

@gigiv and others who purchased Pari Boy GO
I've only used my PARI BOY GO twice so far, so I need a little more time before forming an opinion. However, one thing I've noticed is what appears to be leaking.

I'm not sure whether it's actually leaking or whether the mist from exhaling is condensing into liquid, making it seem that way. Whatever the cause, I find that I need to hold a cloth around the nebulizer to keep my clothing from getting wet.

Has anyone else experienced this? Is this normal for the PARI BOY GO, or could mine be defective?

@scoop, my clothing does not get wet at all while using the boy Go. I do feel once in a while a drop onto my hand, which seems to be from the condensation. I would say no more than 2 or 3 drops total. Which is also what happens with any other nebulizer I have ever used.
I hold mine very upright while nebulizing.
Best wishes of great health to all of us!
