Mildly dilated ascending aorta
I recently reported having stress test and echo which appeared normal. After I met with my cardiologist he said the stress test was normal along with my echo; he the said my ascending aorta was mildly dilated but wasn't concerned about it; of course it didn't ask any questions. After getting home I "googled it" and it seems that I get varying opinions on the the mild dilation. I don't have chest pain anymore but do feel funny in my chest sometimes. Anyone out there have any opinions.
Thanks

How much can you lift in grocery
I had a nuclear stress test wouldn't that show the same as a CAT
@asolidrock Not the same thing. A nuclear stress test measures blood flow to your heart muscle while you rest and while your heart works hard. Did you go on a treadmill or did they inject medication that makes your heart pump as if you are working out??
For a CTA you are lying down .They put an IV in your arm. They slide you into the CT scanner. They inject the contrast. You have to hold your breath when images are taken. It's a very quick procedure.
Im gonna ask my cardiologist about it . Thanks so much
@asolidrock I'm allowed to lift 25 pounds. Other people have different limits per their cardiologist
@asolidrock Your cardiologist is monitoring your heart with echos and the stress test. What was the reason you went to see a cardiologist ?
Was having chest pain and weakness in my chest did ekg he ordered test because of my symptoms. He never mentioned any physical limitations and se me back in 6 months chest pain is gone for the most part didn't have chest pain on nuclear stress test either so go figure
I went through chemo treatments for prostrate cancer so that may affected my heart

@asolidrock Your cardiologist did the Echo and stress test because of your chest pain. Echo shows pumping strength, structural issues , valve problems and nuclear stress shows blood flow through your heart muscle. He was looking for the cause of your pain. I'm glad to hear that it has diminished, for the most part. Does he think that the chemo had any effect on your heart? I hope you are doing well with with your treatment. Best wishes and prayers on your continued journey!!!
