Increasing Lexapro from 5mg to 10mg
My psychiatrist advised me that I could increase my Lexapro from 5mg to 10mg. Since I initially experienced significant side effects (increased anxiety, sleeplessness) when I first started (on it for 22 days), I fear a repeat when I increase the dose. Has anyone else been in similar circumstances? Thanks!

I took Lexapro with no problems for 8 yrs. I was told by a Cardiologist that if we are nervous or anxious about starting a med we will have problems . He said don’t think about it so much. I hope this helps.

1 ReactionI hope you can successfully increase your med, with no problem! If it makes you feel any better, I have never been in such a low SSRI dose! I took 25-50mg of Lexapro for a while. I’ve been on SSRI’s. for almost 40 yrs…. Therefore, I have to switch them up from time to time. My personal variety of “crazy” is OCD. Good luck!!!
