Chronic Kidney Disease added to Chronic Heart Failure?

Just saw Chronic Kidney Disease added to Chronic Heart Failure in my Nurse Practitioner’s After Visit notes. What does this mean? Does this mean I have CKM (Cardiovascular Kidney Metabolic Syndrome)? How does this change things? What is my next move? I am thin now and limit my sodium, fluid, and glucose. I have never been diabetic. I do not have high potassium levels. My BUN and Creatinine levels are always low.

Mike, why didn’t you simply ask the NP or your docs? There is certain criteria for the syndrome you described that is easily searchable online. Since you know your health best see if you fit in the bucket for this.

@jenatsky — Yeah, I found the AHA/ACA 2026 guidelines and I can understand how a Nurse Practitioner could think I have CKM syndrome. I never had diabetes (but my father and his mother did). And I had childhood obesity (but have been thin-medium-thin since age 22). I think the trace amount of blood in my urine every yearly physical for the last 20 years might be a reason for the diagnosis. Thanks!

@shmerdloff — Congrats on figuring out how to get great heart numbers! I promise not to tell your cardio doctor anything! Thank you for telling me about amiodarone! Fortunately for me, I have not had to take that one yet! I think pacing, pacemakers, and balancing may be in my future. I am trying to do everything I can to prevent or forestall that. I just started taking 40mg of Kerendia and I think it is helping me to stay balanced. I can walk and do gardening now without getting dizzy or short of breath. I think all the blood tests are helpful. They gave them to me to check on how I am doing on Kerendia. I am not convinced I now have Congestive Kidney Disease though. Good luck!

Just sayin'. Got a pacemaker. Won't let HR go below 60. Used to be high thirties. Took care of brady. Meds are "pushing down" the tachycardia. It's called tachy brady (afib). Anyway, it's working great. The pacemakers are so advanced, they have an accelerator in them in case I want to do semi-strenuous activity. Gotta watch out for motors and landscaping gas engines tho'. Zzzzelectrical interference. Good luck.

@shmerdloff — Your turbo pacemaker sounds pretty cool! I like that you can exercise now too! I am going to get me one just like yours! Cheers!!!
