Advice for erection problems etc

Posted by wm60 @wm60, Mar 4, 2025

Hello I’m 65 in decent physical condition, just the normal high cholesterol, blood pressure issues. Take meds for those and mild anti depressants. The ED meds help get an errction but can not ejaculate. No sensitivity. No prostTe pain and no excessive urination. Anyone experience this and if so what is a next step or possible treatment?

Check into a penile implant .. even at your age ..had a stroke in 2022 lost the ability to have an erection .. had a Rigicon MPP which is the type that I am erect all the time no pumping required. also it is the simplest of the implant surgeries. Medicare pays for almost a 100% of it. My dr. has implanted his oldest patient was 97 so it is never too late I'm almost 73.

Due to the problems associated with severe P.T.S.D.,inclusive of extreme debilitating migraines, I have been subjected to trying EVERY anti-depressant during my lifetime but I have taken NO meds for my former P.T.S.D. issues. Despite a strong erection from the use of either Viagra and Cialis, I can work up a gym sweat from my thrusting action, implicit with sexual enjoyment but generate no positive feelings that I will ejaculate or have an orgasm. With a strong erection that is satisfactory in terms of pleasure for my wife, she is often very satisfied with the penetration process along with extended periods of oral sex that pleases her greatly, and which I do not feel denigrated in any way, as a husband of a woman I have loved for years. What I discovered in our mutual exchanges of men's health issues is that an implany pump or malleable insert would not be helpful and I should have comprehended a comment that given my erections that are sustainable from Cialis,an implant would be useless as well. I do have Peripheral Neuropathy in my feet and arms due to continual exposure to Agent Orange, a true defoliant in eliminating triple canopy jungle, but was unaware of the health damage inflicted on combat grunts . However, I have the common sense to rule the neuropathy out , as symptom, given that I produced three children in later years with my first wife. Never had any sexual disease, strictly heterosexual, and as a firm believer in my religion, never had an extramarial affair nor engaged in sex with any prostitute in my entire life. I still endure Botox injections every three months for migraines with terrific success and the opportunity to divest myself from taking sumatriptan. At this juncture in my life span ,I simply want a normal looking genital ,as I am quite tired of spraying urine around the bowl, much akin to a wolf marking it's territory.I I just give up on ever achieving an orgasm , but will proceed on a path of insuring my wife's pleasure without any underlying anger or tormenting mental health issues. I am required by the V.A. to have endless blood tests, receive excellent primary care; that includes my private health insurance carrier ( primary physician ) who orders specific tests as per my complaints. With sincerity , there is no highly qualified Urologist in my V.A.M.C. and I am forced by circumstances to seek a highly qualified Men's Health Urologist who caaan assist me, as well as understands compassion. As a rule and as a disabled veteran , I keep the health tests and comments of my V.A. and private care health issues and results of blood tests, CAT SCANS, PET SCANS, and MRI's when they were needed. I do have an opinion that might be helpful and that is the possibility of internal scarring near the pubic bone ; I certainly am no doctor or well trained thinking Urologist but am thorughly confounded by provate Urology Groups offering hyaluronic injections, implants,Penumas, and charging exorbitant fees to innocent patients. Just some additional data but wuth thanks and as the ancient Romans replied " Gratitude"

I'm just curious if you have any complaints at all about your implant. I met one person who had one and he was 100% satisfied and had no complaints whatsoever and I was wondering if that was your experience as well. Also, what made you decide to go with the one that's constantly erected versus the pump up version? I know people who have both and both are happy with the one they chose. Of course I suppose just being able to have an erection plays into the satisfaction factor as well.
One final question, how much length did you lose?
Thanks much,
Jake

My Dr. chose my implant based on my health history, but when i researched the difference between the PPI which has a pump and the MMP I have which is erect all the time I like the simplicity of it. Overall I happy with it it's not hard to conceal at all and ready for use in an instant. as far as size loss for one thing who am I impressing with size at my age? lol .. I was getting weaker erections as I aged which is natural .. then 2022 had a stroke never had another erection. I used a VED for 6 weeks before my surgery which I think helped with any size loss. You lose size as we age and you lose as you get weaker erections as you age. If you email me privately I'd be happy to share photos if you are considering an implant. I also advise people to go to a website called Franktalk.com become a member it's free anything and everything you wanted to know about ED and implants is on there lots of information.

My only concern for you is when you said you can get an erection but no sensitivity. Assume you did not have prostate surgery as I did , I cannot get a good erection even with injections, and I have no sensitivity so as much as I want to have an implant, why go thru surgery and not feel anything during sex . Unfortunately my 69 yr old wife of 43yrs has lost interest in sex which adds to my daily sadness and frustration. Good luck

@graybeard46 Just an FYI, a few years ago I Googled the question "What percentage of women over 60 have lost interest in sex?" The answer they gave was 50%. Has anyone found a way to help those women recover their libido?

@crossette There are therapies available, but the woman has to want to restore her libido. My own experience is that my partner is perfectly happy without sex, so why take drugs to solve a problem she doesn't think she has?

Thank you for your kind response, and you are correct in that I never had prostate surgery. However, I still swim, am subjected to the need of catheters, and am still a member at a private gym, which all adds up to humiliating experiences when you have a B.P.

With my thanks,
