Has anyone taken creatine supplements to improve low muscle mass?
I'm hoping to hear from others, especially older women with low muscle mass, regarding the outcome of taking creatine supplements. Many thanks for sharing any experience.

I did when I was younger and heavily into weight training and creatine helped me put on bulk. Always good to review how much etc. with your physician,

2 ReactionsI saw 5 g creatine capsules manufactured by a brand I like. Do you remember the dose you took back in the day? That said, my intent is to avoid sarcopenia rather than bulking up 🙂
73 year old man here...I occasionally take 5g of powder in a yogurt. I think that's the standard dose. I cleared that with my doctors first. They need to take that into consideration if you have regular blood work, which I do for PMR and SMM.

2 ReactionsI am 92 yeaqr old woman with relatively still good muscle mass. I
do daily one to three miles on stationary bike. I began adding to morning coffee (one teaspoon) about 30 days ago, along with my tablespoon of Collagen Peptides. I use a frother and it is my morning ritual. The Colagen I have taken for two ;years.

7 Reactions@showkayce has the collagen been a benefit for you. Mixed reviews on medical sources. I’ve been taking it for 3 months now.

1 Reaction@kjoed53 Can taking 5 g of creatine supplement affect blood work results?
@showkayce That sounds great! Would you credit most of your success to using the stationary bike or the collagen peptides/creatine supplement?
Well, congratulations. You've discovered sarcopenia. The scary part is it actually started when we were in our 30's. Yes, creatine monohydrate ALONG WITH adequate protein and exercise (especially resistance exercises, i.e., weights, bands, etc.) is helpful. And it's cheap as hell. Bulk Supplements is my source for that and for several related products - protein powders, etc. I regularly put 5-10 grams of creatine in my first morning coffee, so as not to forget taking it. And of course, I NEVER forget the coffee, so...

Yes, that's why it's important to be transparent with your doctors for all supplements. They can do things that we never knew.
