Diagnosed with Atypical Parkinson's? What does this really mean?

I have been diagnosed as having Atypical Parkinsons.Is that something that goes away for a month or so and then comes back for a month or so or do i need to find a different Neurologist?

I am sorry to hear of your friend's diagnosis of Atypical Parkinson's. I'm sure that she and her family appreciate your interest in learning as much as possible about this disorder.

What sort of symptoms was she having prior to her diagnosis? Have any treatments been prescribed, like medication or physical therapy?

@chillier I have been seeing Neurologist since 2022 and no meds or diagnosis as of yet,just a bunch of maybes.Thats why i don't get any meds for my pains in shoulders and legs.

@methel CBD is what they are guessing what i have.I have took every scan and test but the skin biopsy.

It is my understanding that CBD can only be diagnosed on autopsy. Yes, there are lots of Parkinsonisms Such as CBD, lewy body dementia, PSP, etc. And yes, there are plenty of signs of symptoms, which seemed to occur with patients who have CBD and that is how the working diagnosis is made until they can actually sample your brain. Maybe you already have the right doctor, but if I were wondering, I would look for a neurologist affiliated with a major medical center which treats these diseases. My reasoning is that I might get more help managing the disease and possibly access to a clinical trial that might help me and others.

@methel Yes,they both are affiliated with major medical centers.One is in Ok. and the other Texas.
