Pain medication changes due to regulations
I’ve been told twice now by my current doctor that they have to lower my pain medication because they’re being forced to by the government. I myself have lowered my medication twice to cut it in half. I’ve been on this medication for 26 years. I’ve tried to lower it again, but life as you know it changes so quick that I was not able to take care of myself. Now I’m in this position where they will have to lower it. I’m just wondering if anybody else out there has been told the same . Thanks for any input you may have.

@jackiet it works for me without any ill effects but everybody is different. What works for me may not work for someone else.

1 Reaction@jackiet I have taken both with cannabis with no issues. But everyone is different and so are their drs. My pain specialist is fine as long as I have a medical marijuana card.

I dont know but some doctor's dont believe I'm pain meds
@ksrodulski1 Thanks much. I appreciate your response.
I take medical cannabis with Targin and Endone (Australia) with no bad effects. The cannabis is CBD oil only.
The CBD oil addresses the muscle spasm for fibromyalgia but I need to take some THC for bad arthritis and severe pain. In NSW Australia we cannot legally drive with THC in our bloodstream This combination works well for me.. My cannabis specialist has told me there is an interaction with warfarin a blood thinner but other things should be ok

@tyyne21wigwam Back problems are tough ones.
NSAIDS have their "dark side" as well. I've said to my PRP that I'd rather take one Vicodin, maybe two, instead of six Advils or whatever number of Tylenols to deal with pain.
PT is good but it's not a magic bullet.
Great you don't give up!
How is the meditation working?
I don't know about Nalu or the stim devices for backs, but see if they give you a trial period to see if it works. If you feel it's not enough time, say so.
I had a Curonix put in over my not great knee replacement a few months ago and it's worked very well.
The trial and permanent implant post op were painful (for me) though. This isn't always the case.

1 Reactioni have been taking OxyContin for years It seems like it is made of GOLD it is so hard to get it I have found a pharmacy where I get it every month I am holding on to them I have been in the past looking up pharmacies in the phone book and asking if they had it I have called like 10 pharmacies in the past trying to get ,my prescription filled and nobody had it and they all say with the new laws or whatever that the government would only allow them to get so many pills and that they were reserved for their regular customers then insurance is also a night mare not wanting to pay for it. I have paid $1000 in one case at a particular pharmacy and another time I paid $600 for my prescription, and this is with insurance My pain is so bad that I can't get out of bed or do anything at all without it it is just ridiculous

2 Reactions@rustyjones That's horrible for you!
Is there another pain med or "procedure" that might help?
Have you tried Medfinder for pharmacies?
Good Rx can have decent rates. I use them when I've gotten Hydrocodone/Vicodin-that's not covered by my insurance.
Depending where you have pain there are some options to do as well as meds.
@rustyjones how did you get a prescription for them. I would love to know. I have tried everything they offer and I can’t get them
